Chapter 15 - Mine

Next morning, y/n's pov:

After what happened yesterday Deidara hasn't talked to me, or not yet. On the other side, Itachi was worried about our mission, and I didn't explain anything to him.

I haven't lied to him yet.

Pein forbad me to go on mission for the next week, or even ask him about missions. He was feeling guilty about that he sent us there, but It's our fault. He only allowed me to talk with him about what happened on the mission, so now I'm heading to his office. I knocked on the door but this time he came and opened the door instead of shouting "Come!" Man, he really is feeling down...

- Hey, um, I came to tell you about, well you know.

- Yes. Take a seat and explain everything, without skipping a single thing. Also, explain to me why do you personally think you failed this very important mission. – oh man, was he guilty or angry?

- Yes sir... we were close to their hideout when Sasuke Uchiha appeared, he probably was sent on a mission too, which probably was to keep an eye on the hideout or... to attack our hideout.

- Why would he be sent on such mission? Why do you think this? – I really braided myself in my own lies, didn't I...

- These are just speculations, sir. I can't know for sure, but his job was to stop us, not very far from the hideout but still... I don't think it's a coincidence either. After this, we fought, Orochimaru trained him good, to be honest. He was a hard one to beat.

- What are you saying? You, Y/n, who is known in the whole Leaf Village for her skills, and who was so close to kill Deidara, couldn't finish this mission because of Sasuke Uchiha?

- Yes, that is exactly what I am saying, sir. – too ashamed from lies to even look in his eyes...

- Don't you think you should train harder then? You are a member of the Akatsuki, don't forget. Continue.

- We fought and we beated him, I can't be sure if he is dead or not, but that drained us completely. Then, we returned.

- Good. Actually, is not good at all, it's awful. Sasuke Uchiha huh. Well, see then. Maybe if I chose Sasuke over you to join the Akatsuki... - I was trying my best not to tell him about the cursed seal, showing him how wrong he is, his words were making me so angry... I didn't even want to be here in a first place, now he is turning things to look like I was begging him to join the organization.

- No. Listen to me. – my body was a little hotter than usual, but I was trying to hold it back. – You don't know me. Sasuke Uchiha is a loser, you don't know him too, do you? I don't care if you are my Leader or whatever, I won't allow anyone to talk to me like this! – I slapped my arms on Pain's desk, he didn't say anything, but he wasn't afraid either. – It is what it is, and next time I will kill everyone there. I couldn't keep it inside me, and now this... I can only wish Pain doesn't turn an eye on it, if he does, I'm probably dead. From all this arguing I got hungry so now I was heading to the kitchen where I found Itachi.

-Hey, are you feeling better now? – he was cooking something and it smelled really nice
