Chapter 9

Evan Office...

Evan POV

"What is this?? "

There was a piece of letter lying on Evan desk. He pick on it and saw that the letter has a royal seal on it.

"...... I think I know who gave this letter... Haaa... I'm so lazy to read it" Evan sighed but then he slowly open the letter because he worries if there is important news that he needs to know

Dear Archduke Evan...

             I am Tyra Luke the assistant of King Ian write this letter to inform you on behalf of Your Highness. He has requested you to visit him this weekend and need you to explain about your sudden engagement. Your Highness also asked you to bring Lady Denner with you... So that he can see what kind of woman she is... That's all from me.

I knew it... It's from my brother. I don't want to bring Rae with me but since brother has asked me to. I can't object him. I hope nothing happen when I bring Rae to the castle"

After that, the Duke put back the letter on his table and he walk to the map. The map was about his expedition to hunt monster. He carefully make some mark on the map. Maybe, it's kind of strategies for their hunting trip...

Time skip...

Raenifer POV

Knock! Knock!

"Evan?? It's me Raenifer. Can I enter your office?? " krik krik.... No answer from Evan

"He's probably busy since he doesn't even hear me knocking on the door. Then, I should just enter slowly. I hope he didn't get mad at me"

Raenifer slowly open the door and as she walks in, she saw Evan sleeping on his sofa soundly with a messy paper on the table.

"He must be very tired from work. I'm glad that I bring coffee for him" Raenifer smile and put the coffee she made on the table. Then, she arranging the mess paper so that the Duke can continue his work comfortably without seeing the mess. After that, she pick up some blanket and put it on the Duke so that he would not catch a cold.

Raenifer then sit on her knees in front of the Duke. She stare at him for a long time.

"He's face are so handsome. I never saw his face close up. He's such a lucky man. He's rich... Has handsome face... Strong... From royal family and his also kind towards his workers. That's why I always heard the noble woman talk about him whenever there is a party that involve him. Thanks for last night"

"You're welcome"

"Arghhh!!!!! E-evan?!! Are you awake?!!"

"Yeah I'm awake. Why are you so shocked?? Did you do something wrong?? " said Evan and laid his back on the sofa. He looks at Raenifer face waiting for her answer...

"I-i just want to give you a coffee. That's why I enter your office. I'm sorry if I make you uncomfortable but I already knocked the door and you didn't answer that's why I just enter the room. Are you mad?? " Raenifer asked while slowly look into Evan eyes. She afraid if Evan think she take advantage of him

"No I'm not mad. You can just enter my office even without knocking and also when I'm not here. You are the future duchess in this house so nothing can stop you from doing what you want" explained Evan. This is the first time he give permission for someone to enter his office without him knowing or without him there.

"Thanks!! I'm glad that your trust me" Raenifer smile happily as she know that the Duke already trust her.

"But.... Why are you sit in front of me while I was sleeping early?? "

"Ackkk!! I'm done.... What if he knew that I'm admiring his beautiful face. What should I say?? If I tell the truth, he may think I'm a pervert. Urghh... Why did I stare at him!!"

"Ahhh... I-i just saw a mosquito around your face. S-so, I want to catch it so that you will not be disturb while sleeping. Uhmm... You looks very tired that's why I didn't wake you up. Don't get me wrong!! Okay!! "

"Hahahaha... I didn't think anything weird about you. Why are you so afraid?? Anyway, after you said that I suddenly want to think weirdly about you... " Evan smirked toward Raenifer to tease her. He know that Raenifer easily get embarass

"I-i gotta go now!! Byee!!" She quickly ran outside the room and slammed the door. Her cheeks was very red because of the embarassing thing she did earlier

"Duhh... I'm really a fool. If I did not stare at him earlier. Maybe, I will not be tease by him. Huwaa... How can I face him after this?? "

In the evening...

"I'm so boring!!! There's nothing I can do here except reading book, go on walk, sleep and eat. Hmm... I hope I can do something new" said Raenifer while sitting on a bench at the garden and her leg swaying front and back ( I didn't know how to say that when you sit while move your leg thinking something... Ermm don't mind i just don't know how to explain)

"My lady??"

"Ohh Stella" one of the maids that serve Raenifer since she staying here

"What are you doing here?? " asked Stella

"Ahh nothing... I'm just boring didn't know what to do"

"Ahh I know something fun that you can do, my lady" said Stella

"Really?!! What is it?!!" Asked Raenifer with a bright face and curious about the fun thing

"Since you boring... Maybe you can plant flower in our garden. Our garden not have many flowers because the Duke does not like flower. That's why our garden feels a little bland"

"But, what if the Duke doesn't like the idea of me plant flower?? "

"No no no!!! I'm sure the Duke will allow you to do that. Becauseeeee..... He loves you, my lady" said Stella with a smile showing her teeth and her hands open up like want to hug someone ( once again idk how to explain... Soryy)

"Love?? Me?? Evan love me?? Hahahaha... Impossible he just think me as a partner in his deal"

"Ahhh... Okay. I will plant it... Urmm but first I have to order the seeds. Thanks for the idea Stella... You already makes me excited"

"No problem, my lady. As long as you happy I will do anything since I like you become our Duchess... Hehehe"

"Hmm... She's so kind. Unfortunately, I don't know if I would really become the duchess in this house"
