Chapter 14

Castle Of Ruiniz...

The Archduke and Raenifer ride their carriage to go to the palace. In the carriage, Raenifer's hands trembled for fear of facing the king. The Archduke noticed that and he hold her hands so that she will be more calm.

"It's okay. I will stay beside you so don't be nervous" said Evan and hold her hands more tightly "Okay" smile Raenifer. About 30 minutes, they finally arrived at the palace. The Duke get off first and he lend his hand for Raenifer. Both of them walked inside the palace. 

"Wow.... It's so pretty. The chandelier was so huge and shiny. It must be so expensive. The hallway was more spacious than Evan's house"

They walked till they saw the emperor assistant, Tyra and she approached them. "Archduke, the emperor asked me to escort both of you to the garden. His Highness was waiting for you there" said Tyra. "She's pretty and cool" think Raenifer. "Okay, Tyra" they walked outside the palace and went to the garden. 

"EVAN!!" 

"Tch... There he is" 

The emperor approached them and hug his little brother, "It's been a long time since I saw you. How are you, my little brother??" asked the emperor. "I'm fine and still alive" Evan replied with a reluctant face. "Oh come on!! You miss me right" said the emperor and being clingy towards his little brother. Raenifer felt a little shocked since she didn't know that the emperor has this kind of character. After that, the emperor noticed that Raenifer was standing beside Evan.

"Ohh you must be Lady Denner ,right??"

"A-ahh yes, Your Highness. It's and honor to meet you on this beautiful day" said Raenifer politely and bowing to the emperor. "Hmm... I don't know that Duke Denner has a pretty daughter like you. That's why Evan could fall in love with you" emperor praise makes Raenifer blushing. "So... What do you want??" asked Evan to the emperor. "Let's sit first" all of them sit and the table at the garden. The emperor make a sign at Tyra to bring the food that he asked to prepare.

"I invited both of you today because I want confirm something. Why did you suddenly want to engaged... Evan??" 

"We love each other"

"That's all?? Are you serious??"

"Yeah... I can't be more serious than this" said Evan with a serious tone. "Hmm..." Raenifer looks at the emperor secretly "I think he don't like it when his brother with a low rank like me. I mean.. I'm not that rich but I'm also not from a poor family. It's just there is Lady Aisla, the rich daughter our Duke Jovis. Duke Jovis was more powerful and rich than my family and also his daughter, Aisla are suitable with Evan. She's pretty, elegant and lovely"

Suddenly, after Raenifer think about that, the emperor shouted "BRAVO!! IT IS SO AMAZING!!" the emperor grab Raenifer hands and that's make her shocked "I'm so proud with you, Raenifer. For a young girl like you can make my brother open his heart for a woman. Auchh!! It's make me want to cry so badly since he was such an arrogant man" said the emperor.

Raenifer was very shocked. Apparently, she had misunderstood the emperor and thinking that she was not suitable for the Archduke.

"Okay now. When the wedding date will be held??" Asked the emperor. "Wait.. Wedding?!! Urmm but we're not engaged yet?? " said Raenifer. "Ahh no need to engaged. Just get married" answer the emperor proudly. Raenifer looks at Evan with a worry face and she hopes that Evan will try to stop the emperor. It is because she want a proper marriage, like get engaged first and then marry. Both of them just declare that they love each other, so it will be weird if they arrange marriage so suddenly.

"Ian... Don't make your own decision. This is my future so I want to be the one who will discuss about this when Rae is ready, okay? " said Evan. The emperor looks a little bit disappointed  but then he respects their decision.

"Okay okay. So, when will the engagement will be held?? I want it as soon as possible so that no woman will be near you, Evan. If that happens  my lovely Rae will be sad, right?? "

"Don't worry, Rae will not allow anyone to approach me" answer the Duke with a smile. Raenifer was blushing and she push Evan a little bit, that means she want him to stop tease her in front of the emperor.

"Aww... So sweet. When can I meet my soulmate?? " said the emperor and glance at Tyra. But, Tyra doesn't even looks at him although she know that the emperor had a crush on her. Evan also looks at Tyra and he knows that Tyra was not so easy to get... So his brother should do more to get her.

Then, all of them was chatting while eating at the garden. The sky was calm and the sun was shining brightly.

Time skip...

"Ahh... Can you guys just stay here for one night??" Beg the emperor. He felt lonely since there is no one he can chat with instead of Tyra.

"I have more work to do. You know that the hunting expedition will start in two days from now. So, I must prepare well before went to the expedition"

"Okay I got it. Rae!!! How about you come here when Evan went to the hunting?? We can play chess together and do something interesting so that we won't be bored" asked the emperor with a shiny eyes. Raenifer looks at Evan because she afraid if Evan don't like with that idea but Evan just looks fine with it.

"Sure!! I will come to spend time with you, Your Highness"

"Cool!! So we will meet again!! Have a safe trip Evan and my lovely Rae"

The Archduke and Rae enter the carriage and went home.

The emperor's room...

"Urghh... I'm so tired. It's been a long time since I got a nice talk with my brother. Rae is awesome too... I like her. I think she's so cute!! Her eyes was always shiny when look at Evan" said Ian, the emperor

"That's why the Duke fall for her"

"Yeah... But I think you are more cute than her when you smile"

"..... If there is nothing. I will go back now" said Tyra. She tried to ignore the words that the emperor just said because she know what will happen if she just stay there. So, she decide to get out first.

"Wait!! I didn't give you a permission yet. So, you can't go home until I ask you to" Tyra just sighed and walked back in front of the emperor. The emperor go in front of her and look at her.

"Tyra.... Why you don't accept me?? If it's about I'm being the emperor and you just the assistant and also my knight. It doesn't makes sense... I don't care who you are as long as I like you"

"It's not that... I... Just don't like you, Your Highness" said Tyra while facing the emperor. Ian was shocked since it's the first time Tyra rejecr him directly.Often, she would try to change the topic so that he would stop talking about that. But, today she directly reject him.

"Did you not even have any feelings for me??"

"No"

"Okay... I get it now. Thanks for your hard work. You can go home now" said the emperor and look away from her. Tyra walked out from the room after bowing her head.

"Haaa... I'm a stupid man that fall in love with someone that doesn't even like me" the emperor sit on her chair and laying down his head on the table.

Outside the room...

"I'm sorry, Your Highness"
