Sunhee POV

This is somehow even more awkward than the first time I came here. I'm sitting on the couch across from Kevin, just staring at each other. Waiting for him to say something. Waiting for him to tell me i'm strange- that I should go get some help. Waiting for him to diagnose me with crazy syndrome.

The strange thing is he doesn't look at me differently, he looks at me the same he did yesterday, serious but forever upturned lips and kind eyes.

"you can relax," Kevin moon chuckles.

I come to my senses, realizing my back is straight, not touching the couch backrest, and my knees are clenched together, and my jaw tense.

"Right," I say quietly, resting my back and placing my large black boots on the coffee table between us.

"Nice boots," Kevin says, copying my pose to show me his brown ones.
"Thanks," i say.

A long pause- painful and silent.

"So... are we just going to sit here for the next two hours or...?" I ask with a new found confidence.

"Oh, sorry" Kevin says, his eyes becoming more awake. "I was just admiring you"

"What??" I basically screech, wondering if I heard him right.

"I meant- not in that way! No, not what I meant... not like not in that way, you're very pretty- I meant beautiful- I meant- omg..." Kevin moon says in one breath and I don't know how to respond at all. "Phew, let me start over..."

This boy has to be the most socially awkward social people I've ever met. He's- confidently embarrassing himself all on his own.

My eyebrow is raised and Kevin takes a moment to organize his thoughts.

"Pretend I didn't say that. What I meant was, I admire how you took a risk today. You sat at lunch with three new people, and you knew when you felt uncomfortable and you left. I think it's something to admire about you- how self aware you are." He says confidently to me.

I narrow my eyes at him a bit, trying to see if he's being sarcastic or not. He's praising me for running away when I got a panic attack because I had to sit with a small crowd of people? I'm confused.

"Really, I'm impressed" Kevin says, breaking my thoughts. I finally look him straight in the eyes, his facial expression is unwavering.

"Thanks...?" I say cautiously. Kevin moon turns up his lips slightly at my reaction and luckily continues on with the subject. I don't know if he was being sincere about calling me pretty... who knows. Probably not. No one's ever said that seriously to me before.

"So anyways, Miss Lee Sunhee- what a catchy name- do you have any siblings?" He asks.

"Lee Hyunjae. But he left me a while ago. He sends a text at most once a week," I say shortly.

"That sucks, I bet he-" Kevin is cut off by the sudden ring tone of my phone.

I see the number is my mom and I pick it up. She never calls me.

"Hello?" I say into the phone and Kevin busies himself with a bracelet he's wearing.

"I wanted to tell you I have a last minute business trip to Busan. Not sure how long yet-  could be a couple weeks. I left money in the counter and refilled your credit card to last you. Keep the apartment in place please" my mother sounds like she's running and I hear chatter around her. Probably an airport.
