Sounds of silence

Amaya's POV:

"It's a pleasure to meet you Kakashi Hatake." I spoke formerly with a small nod of my head.

"Ah, the pleasures mine..."

"Amaya."

"Amaya," he said while giving me a once over, I assume he didn't find anything worth mentioning because he quickly looked elsewhere.

"So team seven, did you complete your mission then," the Third questioned.

"You bet we did! It was easy, believe it!" Why does he feel the need to tell people to believe it, am I missing something here? "Though we had to have help from this lady," I'm fairly certain the boy knows my name.

"Yeah she offered to carry the cat for us, in exchange we had to carry her bags," is this girl bipolar? I could have sworn she was yelling ten minutes ago.

"How thoughtful of you Amaya, didn't think you had it in you," haha, very funny old man.

"It just so happens I was on my way here anyway Lord Third, and it seems I've over-stayed my welcome. I'll be taking my leave now," I trail off with a small bow.

"Ahh, before you go, I was hoping you'd come by and give a demonstration of your chakra nature to the academy students in a few days?"

"I suppose I could make time for something so trivial, though I'm not sure what makes you think they'd be interested in a water chakra nature. Children have no sense of an attention span, something flashier would be better."

"Oh I'm sure you'll do just fine. Stop by my office in three days yes?"

"Will do," I finish quickly and swiftly turn to leave.

"Wait!" I stop and angle my head back waiting for the Uzumaki to speak. "Your bags!" Right, I'm in too big of a hurry. I really don't like staying near the Third for very long, he's always trying to convince me to do things I don't wish to. The boy runs up to me and hands over my bags, a giant grin on his face.

"Thank you Uzumaki-Kun," he starts sputtering what seems to be reassurance that it's fine, but I could be wrong. With the boy distracted by himself I hurriedly exit the Thirds office and start my journey back home. Aware of dark eyes -or eye I guess- watching my every move; I do hope he's aware of how stalkerish that is.

The walk home wasn't a long one, more peaceful then anything. Especially since the sun had gone down; the forest at night just turns completely different, ethereal almost.

The sounds of nocturnal animals walking about and hunting is paired with almost creepy silence, a silence that's capable of sending shivers throughout your body. For me it's enjoyable though, the thrill of being alone in the woods, possibly getting injured with no one around to help you. The adrenaline is addictive really.

As I arrive home, I'm greeted by Zephyr my very own Wolf dog. I found him as a pup injured in the woods with no mother. I obviously nursed him back to health, and instead of leaving like I was hoping, he stuck around. I'm not a huge fan of animals but he's grown on me these last few years I've had him, and I mean that more then just emotionally, he's ginormous. He would have been mentioned earlier but he was off finding himself some sort of food, thankfully I don't have to feed him or else I'd definitely be broke; I repeat my earlier statement of him being ginormous.

I pat his head gently and open the front door for us both, the silence still clearly penetrating the air. We both have mastered silent footsteps, thankfully he's intelligent enough to be taught such things.

Its relatively late so I immediately head straight for the shower and quickly do everything that's needed. Getting out I dry, put on some clothes and jump right on my bed, right in the center. I get comfortable and quickly doze off, the sounds of silence still looming throughout my house.
