Amaya's POV:
—————————-time skip——————————
———————-three days later————————
On my way once again to Konaha, I have time to think about my decisions in life. By far this was the worst one I've yet to make, I could turn back now, say I forgot. Why on earth did I agree to this in the first place? Oh yeah, the Hokage asked me, and it's not like I can say no, dude would find a way to make me show up.
I mean come on, I hate kids, why would he want me of all people doing this? The most I can do is show them some water jutsu's and then get out of there. Sure I can also do some other non-water related jutus's, but what's the point? That would just cause me to stay longer then necessary.
Arriving at the dramatic gates of Konaha, I greet the surprisingly awake guards. There names if I remembered correctly are Izumo, and Kotestu, at least probably.
It's pretty early in the morning so not many people are wandering around quite yet, shops are just starting to open, and it's overall decently quiet.
I practically make it a mission to show up everywhere early, so when I arrive to the Academy it's no surprise that I don't see any children running around. I walk up the stairs and through the doors, quickly turning right, I make my way towards Iruka's office. I don't bother to knock cause I haven't been concealing my chakra since I entered the Hidden Leaf.
The soft opening of the door is accompanied by Iruka's slight glare as I enter his office. As soon as he fully recognizes me though, his glare withers away, and a small smile graces his pretty face instead.
"Amaya, I honestly didn't think you'd show," everyone really just thinks the worst of me huh? I would never shirk my duties.
"Well then it seems I proved you wrong Iruka."
"It sure seems that way. You're here pretty early, the kids don't usually show for about another hour."
"Well you know my distaste for lateness," Iruka and I go back to when we were kids, though his parents died from a different reason then mine. The death of a our parents brought us a lot closer in the end.
"Yes yes, why don't you go wander for a while and come back later. The kids won't even be outside for the demonstration until after lunch." Why am I not surprised, the damned Hokage didn't give me the time on purpose. That man is pure evil I swear.
"Yeah I'll do that. Though I have no clue what I'll be doing. Oh well I guess, I'll be back later Iruka." I turned around with a wave and left the building. Now what am I suppose to do? I could just walk around, but that's way too boring.
The streets compared to earlier are a lot more busy. People are running around buying groceries, parents are taking their children to the Academy for the day.
I guess I can stop by and see Ayame and Teuchi, I haven't seen either of them in awhile. The ramen shop isn't far from where I currently am so the walk is only about five minutes. Since it's morning it shouldn't be too busy.
I raise my hand to the pull the curtain back and falter slightly. The Uzumaki kid is here, and looking real beat up. What the hell happened?
"You doing alright there Uzumaki-kun," I question with a hand on the middle of his back. He jumps and swiftly turns in his chair. Someone did a good number on him, his face is pretty nasty looking, his left eye is black and blue and almost swollen shut, his lip is bleeding, a nice sized cut running through it. There's some matted blood stuck in his hair, I can only assume he was hit with something... more than once. I can't see the rest of his body but I'm sure it's in a similar state.
"Oh! Uhhh... you're that lady from the other day. Uhh... hehe."
"Amaya," little shit actually forgot my name, I can't say I'm surprised though.
"Right! Amaya! I knew that, believe it!"
"Yeah sure you did. Now what happened to your face kid? You get roughed up on a mission or something? Isn't your sensei suppose to like, help you?" His face quickly turns sullen and he hangs his head, I guess I'm wrong.
"Ah, it's uh, it's nothin. Nothin happened, why do you ask?" His head shoots up and the big smile he always wears is back on, if I hadn't seen the tears in his eyes I probably would have believed him.
"Well, I don't believe ya," his face slowly loses the grin, "but I won't ask for now." Just as quickly as it fell the grin comes straight back, such a strange kid. "How about I buy you some ramen instead, and you can tell me all about what it's like to be a Genin?"
"That sounds great, believe it!"
"Oh I believe it alright." I look up and catch Teuchi's eyes watering, I'll have to ask him later what's up with the kid. "Two bowls of Miso please Teuchi."
"Of course Amaya. I haven't seen you in awhile, how's it been?"
"It's been great, thank you." As he goes off to make our ramen, I listen closely to everything the boy has to say. He talks fast and randomly changes subjects which makes it really hard to keep up with him. Most of what he talks about though is being a Genin.
"It's sucks being a Genin ya know? All we do is yard work and chores for other people, I want to go on a really mission.." they don't do actual missions yet? As a Genin that's all I did with my team. That and fighting in the war, so I guess it makes since that they'd have it easier. Though I'm not to sure that's the best option, being ready is better than being ill-prepared. "And don't even get me started on Sasuke teme, he's so rude and thinks he's better then me at everything. Then there's Sakura, she's so pretty, but she's also rude to me. All Kakashi sensei does is read his stupid porn books, and he's constantly late, every morning we get there super early, and he shows up like hours later. But he's also like super strong, and a really good ninja."
"It sounds like you've got a really interesting team kid," and by interesting I mean horrible. First off most Uchiha's are assholes, well they were when they were alive anyway. Second off if the girls rude to you, you definitely shouldn't be into her, that's kinda messed up. Last but not least, a sensei that's always late, that would drive me up the wall, not to mention he reads porn around children, what a perv.
"You can say that again, and my names not kid, it's Naruto."
"Yes, I'm aware of your name kid."
"Then call me that, not kid!"
"What's wrong with kid?"
"It's not my name!"
"Right, my bad Uzumaki-kun."
"D..don't call me that either! Call me Naruto!"
"Sorry sorry, how about Naruto-Kun then?" His face gets red and he starts sputtering words like he did the first time I addressed him.
"What.. whatever, that's better then anything else I guess."
A few minutes go by and Teuchi brings out the two bowls of ramen, we both thank him and start eating. Naruto finishes his bowl within five minutes and I give him the last half of my own, which he devoured in less time then his first bowl.
"Well Naruto, I'll see you later. I've gotta head back to the Academy now."
"Oh right, your demonstration thing," he loses part of his smile and I realize he doesn't want to be left alone. He must be really lonely.
"I suppose Iruka won't mind if I bring an extra along with me." He beams at me and starts jumping around.
"Really, really, really?"
"Yes really, now calm down," he stops jumping and apologizes. "Don't apologize Naruto, you're fine, just not so loud ok?"
"Alright, so let's go then!" He grabs my wrist and starts pulling me towards the direction of the Academy. "What type of jutsu are you going to be showing the kids?"
"I guess you'll just have to wait to find out."
