We arrived in Hogsmeade Station at about 5:00 P.M in the early afternoon. The Sun was about to finish setting and the sky was clear.

"I can't believe we are here!" Ivana exclaimed.

"Well, we are not, per sè, here." I said, sorry to burst her bubble. "we have to go over The Black Lake first." I said, choosing not to tell them about the Ukranian Ironbelly Dragon underneath it. We stepped off the Hogwarts Express onto a tiny platform. The land around us was beautiful, but it was cold.

"Firs' years!" A very tall tall man shouted. I recognized his voice to be Rubeus Hagrid, the newest housekeeper of Hogwarts. "Firs' years over here!"

"That's Rubeus Hagrid." I whispered to Ivy.

" Is he half giant? " She asked. I nodded to her as my answer.

"C'mon, follow me, mind yer step now." Hagrid said to the group of first years, showing us to a path that lead to the Black Lake. It was quiet and peaceful in the steep narrow path, as long as you times out annoying whispers from "obvious Slytherins" as my dad calls them.

"Yeh'll get yer first view o' Hogwarts in a sec," Hagrid called, "Jus' round the corner." We turned a corner and saw a beautiful castle. It's lights reflected off of the lake, which was also quite pretty it's self. Children gasped and "oohed-and-aahed."

"No more'n four to a boat." Hagrid pointed at small dinghies waiting for us to ride. Ivy and I, got in a dinghy, Ivana and Zucker trailing behind us. I jumped inside my mind, excited for the Sorting Ceremony.

"Everyone in?" Hagrid asked, sitting in a boat all by himself. He looked ahead and yelled, "FORWARD!" The boats moved forward right as he said it. We moved across the lake at a quick , but steady pace. I tried to catch a glimpse of the Dragon below, but remembered it was the BLACK Lake, and I couldn't see through it.

We were soon at a sort of underground harbor of Hogwarts. The ground was covered in rocks and pebbles that lead to a staircase up to Hogwart 's entrance. We got up the stairs and stood before a gigantic oak door. Hagrid walked to the door and knocked three times. The door opened, revealing a tall, elderly woman with grey hair tied up in a tight bun behind her head.

"Firs' years, Professor Mcgonagall." Hagrid bellowed.

"Thank you, Hagrid." She said with a Scottish accent. "I have it from here." She opened the door wider revealing a huge room with bright candles and a marble staircase.

     "This is exciting!" Ivy sang.

"This place is huge." I said, astonished .

"This place is beautiful." I'm pretty sure Ivana corrected.

"What do you think, Zucker." Ivy asked Zucker.

"I think they should let dogs in here, I miss Snaxs." Zucker replied sadly.

"Don't worry Zucker, you will see him soon." I reminded him of Christmas break, and patted him on the back.

We all squeezed together in the castle (isn't that ironic) and watched Professor McGonagall walk to the center of the staircase.

"Welcome to Hogwarts. "She said. "The start-of-term feast will begin shortly, but first, you must be sorted into your proper houses. There are four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each house has its own story, and each house has produced great witches and wizards. While at Hogwarts, your houses will be like your family, your triumphs will earn you points, while any rule breaking will lose you points. At the end of the school term the house with the most points will win the House Cup. It is a great honor and hope each one of you will earn your house points. The Sorting Ceremony is about to begin. May I suggest you all clean yourself up while you're waiting."
