What's your name?" Luke asked the servant.

"Margret. You may call me Maggie." Maggie said. They arrived at the dining hall. It was only a little smaller than the great hall, with more stained glass windows.

"Ah, Luke, you're here. I trust you found your quarters satisfactory?" The Earl said.

"I did. Thank you for letting me stay here."

"He's staying here?" the Earl's daughter exclaimed. "But father, he's a peasant!"

"Isabella, peasant or no, he's staying here." The Earl said. Isabella huffed, folding her arms. Luke stood where he was, unsure of whether or not he should sit. The Earl looked at him.

"Please, sit, and eat Luke." He said. Luke sat across from the Countess. The meal started with fizznut soup, Luke's favorite. Then a roasted chicken was brought in, followed by salads. Then, the main course was brought in. A giant glazed boar. Luke had never seen a boar that big before. Then again, he'd never seen a boar in his life. When dinner was over, Luke followed Maggie back to his room, feeling very sleepy and warm. He got into a nightshirt provided for him and got into the bed. He found Ruben, his stuffed Sea Serpent under the covers. He couldn't sleep well without Ruben.

When Luke settled down against the pillows to sleep, he found them and the bed way too soft. He felt like he was sinking in mud. He rolled over onto his right side, that didn't help. So, he tried his left side. Same result. He sat up and punched a pillow several times, trying to beat it into submission. It was just as uncomfortable as before. How did the Nobles sleep on these things? He looked over at his egg. It made no sound, nor did it move. At least it was comfortable. How was he supposed to sleep? He looked at the window seat. It was big enough, he could sleep there, but it was too hard. The window seat he'd had in his room at his old home had been really hard. This was a noble window seat, though. Weren't they supposed to be fancier than commoner window seats? Luke went over to it and sat down on it. It was perfect. But, wouldn't the Earl be offended if he slept there? He knew he wouldn't sleep if he slept on the bed. Luke finally decided to sleep on the window seat. He grabbed Ruben and a blanket from off of the bed. Then he laid down on the window seat, grabbing one of the pillows for his head. Then he closed the inner and outer curtains of the window and fell asleep.
