Luke woke up to arguing. He looked around. His friends were arguing with each other. He could only hear parts of their arguments.
"We should kill The Head Crow and liberate all cities first!" Ailwin was yelling.
"No, we should liberate Everglen first!" Forwin retorted. "Don't be selfish!"
"Selfish? Me? You're the one who wants to liberate their city above all others!"
"Guys stop. We need to focus!" Isabella said.
"Stay out of this little missy!" Forwins said. "I need to deal with this selfish crab."
"You're the crab!" Ailwin said. Forwin punched him. Ailwin tackled him and they wrestled across the ground. Korman and Estrilda were arguing about Korman's chance at a Dragon. The topic quickly switched to the chance of his getting an egg ever. Justice was arguing with her brothers about their telepathic link. Isabella started an argument with Damainus. Cailean and Henain were arguing about which was better: Dragons or Griffins. Althalos looked like he was trying to argue with them all, but got into an argument with Isabella and Damianus. Luke reached out his mind to all of them and made them shut up and stop attacking each other.
"Why are we arguing with each other? Over petty things that will happen in the future and things that go against the plan that we have so far?" Luke asked them. He released them from his control. No one gave him an answer or a reason. "If we don't have a reason for it then why are we arguing about it? This is what The Crows want."
"I don't know what came over me, I woke up and felt... really angry." Ailwin said. Everyone else agreed.
"I'm not normally this quick to anger." Damianus said. "Elves are really quite peaceful." The look he gave Luke made Luke's stomach flop. Damianus was still insisting that Luke was an Elf. he reached out to Damianus.
If I'm an Elf, then why aren't my ears pointed?
By the looks of things, they will be soon. Luke pulled out, disgusted.
"Can we focus on the task at hand? Defeating The Crows?" He said. He looked at all of them until they looked away. They were ashamed of themselves. The fact that they woke up feeling this way sent his instincts on edge. They hadn't done it out of nowhere. Did The Head Crow have the ability to instill anger in people? What powers did he have? He tried to find the answer to this, but couldn't. The closest he could come up with is that The Head Crow is one of the kinds of Powerful Beings. He didn't know which one. They set out again. They had gone a mile when the arguing started again. This time they were arguing about where to go next.
"We should go to the Crow base, we would be able to capture and free some Underaged." Ailwin said.
"No, we should go to another campsite." Forwin said.
"Crab!"
"Am not!"
"You're acting like one!" Everyone began to argue. Luke reached out his mind to theirs. He found the problem. A seed of anger and distrust had been planted in each of their minds. Luke destroyed them. Everyone shook their heads as the seeds died.
"What? I'm so confused. What was wrong with us?" Cailean said.
"Seeds of anger and distrust were planted in your minds." Luke explained. "I destroyed them."
"Who would do that?" Ailwin asked.
"The Head Crow." Luke answered. "He wants us to fail. So he can have Everglade."
"We don't know that for sure." Forwin said.
"All the information we have is old. We need new information. Let's find an Underaged to free." Luke said, looking at them all. They headed towards the Crow base. When they got there, they discovered that The Crows were waiting for them.
"Fly!" Forwin yelled. "Get away!" as Luke turned Eclipse around, a Crow came out of nowhere and grabbed Korman.
