Everglade: The Underaged

Chapter 30

Korman!" Luke whirled Eclipse back around, but it was too late. Korman had already been dragged into the Crow base. Luke ordered Eclipse into a dive, but she wouldn't listen.

Not safe! She told him.

I don't care, that's my friend! Luke leaped off Eclipse's back. He landed on the ground and began to fight The Crows. He made it to the entrance and hurried inside, shutting and locking the door behind him. He turned from the entrance and ran through the halls, following the sound of Korman's cries for help. He ignored the Underaged as he ran through the halls. He made it to a room where Korman was tied to a chair. There was a pure white Alicorn foal in a cage.

"Luke! Help! They're going to force a bond!" Luke walked into the room, reaching out with his mind. He ordered The Crows in the room to sleep. They dropped. He went over to Korman and used his stiletto to cut the ropes tying Korman to the chair. Korman went over to the Alicorn foal they were going to force him to bond with.

"Help me get it out." He said. Luke came over and helped him break the lock. Korman tried to coax the foal out. He failed. Luke reached his mind out to the foal.

Safe now. He said. The foal cautiously stuck out it's head. It sniffed Luke's hand.

"How are you doing that?" Korman asked.

"I told it that it's safe." Luke replied. The foal nuzzled his hand.

"There's something more than telling it that it's safe. Maybe you have some kind of animal power."

"Maybe." Luke stood up and the foal came out of its cage. Luke checked if it was male or female. It was a male. The foal licked him. Maybe he did have an animal power. They headed back out. Luke looked at all the Underaged. He decided to free some, maybe he could get some new information. But, after he freed them, all the Underaged ran off before he could talk to them. So he just kept freeing them. He freed all the Underaged on the route to the entrance. When they got to the entrance, the foal freaked out and ran off. Luke ran after him.

Safe! I will protect you. Luke desperately told him. He slowed down and finally stopped. He looked at Luke.

Promise?

I promise. The foal came back over to him. They went back to the entrance. Korman was still there. They could hear fighting on the other side of the door.

"Did the others come back with you?" Korman asked.

"I jumped off of Eclipse's back when I went to save you." Luke answered.

"She wouldn't let you come after me?"

"Unfortunately. I had to jump off to get to you."

"Maybe they came back after you went in here."

"Maybe." The foal nudged Luke. They unlocked the door and opened it a crack. They looked out. Their friends had come back, but they had others with them. Luke recognized them to be Elves. He stopped a groan from coming out. He could be one of them. They might take him away and he'd never save his home.
