It was late. Almost three in the morning and I was still at the burrow after a pleasant birthday celebration of Ginny Weasley. Everyone got her something, I saw Hagrid gifting her a nice big cage for her Pigmy Puff along with many other things to help him grow better. I had an idea of what to give her but things'd been so weird, i decided to find another gift soon and give it to her.
Everyone'd slept so i took the opportunity to sneak out. I had to go back to the Grimauld place first so i thought it best to leave in the night. Buttoning up my robe, and fixing myself up, i picked up my wand and headed out to the back exit of the burrow to disapperate quietly. I'd just shut the door when i saw a figure crouched beside a pillar of the patio.
"Ginny?" I whispered, sitting on my toes beside her. She looked away from the sky, back to me. Her eyes glistened and hair tousled. She was in her pink sleeping robe and i could see her long legs poking out of her sleeping shorts, "What are you doing out here?"
She didn't say anything and pushed back a flick of her hair. She shook her head and dropped it near her knees. I sat on my bottom and crossed my legs, just watching and waiting for an answer.
"Nightmare?" I asked.
Again, nothing. But in a bit, her body tilted towards me and her head rested on my shoulder. She held the lapel on my robe and tucked her head in my neck. I wraoped an arm around her with no care of anything weird.
"Were you going somewhere?" She mumbled after a while.
"Grimauld Place." I answered, nodding. She raised her head and moved away.
"Go, then. I'll be alright." She gave me a twitch of a smile but I was glued to my spot. I didnt want to go.
"I've got time." I inhaled a loud breath.
"I went to the chamber." She spoke, in a breath. I almost missed the words but when I caught them, my head whipped to look at her bowed one.
"Come again?" I asked, shocked.
"I had to see. I wanted to know what laid there now that..."
"Were you trying to hurt yourself? What is the matter with you Ginny? What if you'd gotten stuck there? Its not easy to get out of there! What if something happened to you?" I kept throwing questions. She didn't respond and her shoulders slumped. I got up, ready to leave.
"Can i come with you?" She asked when i took a step forward. I clenched my jaw and raised a hand back. Her fingers slowly slid into mine and then i closed my eyes, disapperating us to the street outside the Grimauld place. Helping us in through the front door, I led her into the kitchen and brewed a pot of tea.
"I heard he got away." She spoke, tracing a weird zigzag shape on the table with her finger.
"Who?"
"Rodolphus."
I felt my body stiffen at this. For some reason, I'd hoped to not have this conversation.
"You can talk to me about this Harry. We're still friends, arent we?"
"No." I turned around, sharply, "We're not friends, Ginny!" I walked around the table and she stood, completely stunned. I cupped her cheek and ran the other arm around her waist, before pulling her in and taking her in a passionate embrace. She responded after a couple seconds but then her arms were around my shoulders and waist. I felt her fingers crawl into my hair and I pushed her up on the table. She sat on it and I kept the kiss brewing between us. Our kiss was soft. Quiet. So... real. Everytime i looked at this girl, I'd be enlightened again with how truly beautiful she is. When I released her, she was inhaling loud breaths.
