The club was booming and frankly, i didn't feel like going home so when Ron and Hermione offered to meet them here, I didnt say no. When I told Eddie, he insisted on bringing in Nigel and Nigel's girlfriend, Nancy. I didnt say no because I had no problem with him being there honestly. Nancy didn't show up since she was busy for school but the boys did.
"Hey, is it true that Cho Chang reached out to you?" Hermione asked. I groaned at name.
"Yeah. Said she was looking everywhere for me and that she missed me. Honestly, we only kissed once and then she was still stuck on her ex. He left her ages ago after he moved away."
"Cedric, you mean?" Ron chuckled.
"Yeah. Nice guy. Just moved away." Hermione sighed.
"So what are you going to do about Chang?"
"Nothing. I'm not going to respond. I listened to her voice-mail and left it there." I shrugged.
"Potter, you need to find a girl. You can't just skip from one to another. Poor Romilda's still pretty broken about you and her."
"She wanted to move in? For God's sake, we'd only been going out for a month." I shook my head, sipping at my whiskey. I'd been through a long day. Work was crazy all afternoon and morning, then I had to make a quick trip out of New York and as soon as i came back, I came here. Every bone in my body screamed for a bed but I still didn't want to go home.
I was just taking another sip when my eyes landed on one girl, standing out of the crowd on the dance floor. She was a pretty and short red dress with her messy dark red hair on top. Her long legs could get any man wanting her more and when she slowed with her hips moving beneath, she caught me staring. Her brows scrunched snd I realized she mustve been uncomfortable, so I moved my gaze away. I felt like I'd seen her before but I just couldn't pin point. Just then, she was crowded by a tall guy and two blonde girls. That's when I recognized the boy. Neville Longbottom! I hadnt seen that man in ages. Since after we graduated from Griffins High School, we'd lost touch. He'd gotten taller than i remembered. The girl beside him was familiar too but I couldnt recognize any of the girls.
"Harry?" I heard snapped back to Hermione.
"Hmm?"
"Lost somewhere?"
"Erm, no. Just checking out the dance floor."
"More like the girls on there." Ron snickered and I raised my glass to him. Hermione glared between us. She was always the uptight one but we loved her anyway.
I caught sight of the red head again but she was leaving the dance floor with the slightly shorter blonde in the purple dress, leaving Neville with the long haired girl. They sat on the bar for a bit and then i realized my glass was empty. So I gave it a shot.
I excused myself and headed for the bar. The girl didn't notice me approach, so I quietly leaned on the bar beside her and showed the bartender my empty glass, he understood and went to get another bottle. I could see goosebumps forming on the girl's arm after a small touch against me. When I was catching sight of her shivering arm, I caught sight of ink on her shoulder. It was a small stallion in its prime at its hooves running in the air. I took my double back and stood in front of her, admiring her for a second. Doe eyes, medium thick lips and hair left to a mess that emphasized her sharp face. She was a sight, this woman.
"They say a stallion's a mark of heroism." I spoke and that girl's lips parted as she looked up and matched my eye. I clenched my fingers around the glass and dipped my other hand in my pants pocket. I couldnt let her see my urge to hold her. I gulped in my dry throat.
