"But I'm horrible at cooking." Mingrui said holding a mixing bowl in his hands.

"Oh come on, it'll be fun." Mingrui sighed.

"Fine, but only for you." He said under his breath, "If I burn the house down, or stab myself in the eye I'm blaming you." He said a little louder. You laughed and continued taking ingredients out from the fridge. 

"What are we even making anyway." Mingrui put the bowl down on the table and looked at the ingredients you had set out.

"Cupcakes!" You smiled at him, "So nothing to hard."

"God, how can you be so cute?" Mingrui spoke under his breath once more.

"What was that?"

"N-Nothing, let's just get this disaster over with." 

"Okay, so first, we have to..." You took a look at the recipe you were following, "Mix all of these together." You gestured at the dry ingredients. "Then we can put the milk and eggs and other stuff in after." Mingrui nodded.

"Yeah okay." He didn't sound sure of himself. Mingrui grabbed a measuring cup, and the bag of flour. "Uhhhh... Y/N? How much?"

"Read the recipe you dunce." Mingrui stuck his tongue out at you and look at the recipe. You saw his furrow his brows before looking at you confused. 

"What does this mean?" He pointed to the measurement, '1 2/3' on the page.

"One cup and two thirds? Did you not learn fractions?" 

"Of course I did, I-I," He sighed. "I just don't know how to measure that with the cup." Mingrui said in defeat. You taught him how to use a measuring cup, and after that everything was smooth sailing. The two of you had managed to successfully make the batter. Not without a struggle, but that's besides the point. Mingrui grabbed a scoop and filled the cupcake tray, trying his best to make them all even. After he was done, you put on oven mitts and placed the tray into the oven.

"And now we wait." You said taking off the mitts.

"You know what, that when a lot better then I thought." Mingrui smiled at you, "Thanks for this, it was fun." 

"Hey, no problem GouGou."

You heard your oven timer go off, and Mingrui and yourself raced back to the kitchen to grab the cupcakes. Unfortunately for you, Y/N, in your excitement, you had forgotten to put on oven mitts. You grabbed the hot baking tray and instantly yelped in pain.

"AH FUCK." You jerked your hand away from the tray and looked at your new burn. "Shit." You felt tears brim your eyes.

"Y/N?" Mingrui said obviously concerned. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" He saw you holding your injured hand. "Oh shit did you burn yourself?" You nodded trying to hold back your tears, that fucking tray burnt you real good. Mingrui told you to put your hand under cold water and you did so. He also took the cupcakes out from the oven, as to not start a house fire.

"Here sweetie, let me see." He gestured to you hand, and you took it away from the running tap. Mingrui examined the palm of your hand where you burnt and clicked his tongue a few times. "Ah well, it's not third third-degree, you'll live." He released your hand and made his way over to the medicine cabinet. He came back over to you and told you to sit down at the kitchen table, and you did as he asked. He took some paper towel and gently patted the area dry. hearing you wince he stopped for a moment.

"Are you okay sweetie?" Mingrui looked at you, "I'm sorry if I hurt you." 

"No I'm fine, it just really hurts." 

"I know baby, I know." He blew on the burnt area before putting ointment on it, as well as wrapping gauze around it. Mingrui then gently kissed the bandage he had just put on. Blushing slightly, you took your hand away.

"Wow, thank you." You looked at you hand. "I can't believe I was so stupid." Mingrui giggled.

"Yeah, that was pretty dumb." You pouted at him and he laughed again. "Aw, but your my dummy and I love you for it." You smiled at him.

"I think that was supposed to be an insult, but I don't care, I love you too GouGou."

I have no idea where this idea came from and I'm sorry if it was shit, I tried really hard. Thanks again for the request Solar, I hope I did okay.
