"Oh my god for fuck sake just do it Mingrui." Zeyu hit the younger on the arm. "We've all been telling you to tell them, you can't keep moping about not knowing if they like you when you don't fucking say anything!" 

"But wh-"

"I don't wanna hear it, your bitch ass is going to tell Y/N tomorrow how infatuated you are with them cause I'm sick of listening to you." 

"Fine." Mingrui rolled his eyes. Should he really tell you how he felt? 

"Hmm, I'm not so sure that's a good idea." Hanyu stepped in.

"Why not?" Mingrui asked.

"I'm just trying to save you from rejection." 

"Gege that's mean!" Zeyu looked confused. "Don't bring down his confidence any lower."

"That's not what I meant. What I meant was, in all honesty, I've seen the way you treat Y/N, you're kinda an ass to them."

"What do you mean?"

"Just yesterday you bumped into them in the hallways and they dropped their books. You just laughed and called them a dumbass, like what? I'm not saying you're a bully, but you're just kinda an ass."

"I was just joking, they know that."

"I'm not so sure they do. You two don't even talk."

"Whatever." Mingrui huffed and walked away from his Gege's. He started planning out how he was going to confess, ignoring Hanyu's words

"Y-You like me?"

"Yeah couldn't you tell?" Mingrui's words cane out more harsh then intended.

"Not really." You gave an awkward chuckle.

"Would you like to go to a café or something with me this weekend?" You were hesitant.

"Um, I guess." Mingrui nodded.

"Cool." And with that he walked away.

The date probably had to have been one of the most awkward experiences either of you had had. The silence was inescapable and most of the time if either of you actually talked it was forced small talk. Mingrui took you home after the date, regretting his life decisions.

"Um, so uh, I'll see you later." You nodded.

"Yeah." You gave a weak laugh. Mingrui walked away, waving. 

"Fuuuuuck." He his hands down his face. Maybe Hanyu was right? Maybe he shouldn't have said anything. Maybe his teasing wasn't taken as innocently as he thought.

"You don't understand Gege it was there worst! We barely even talked to one another."

"I'm sure it wasn't that bad." Hanyu said comforting the boy who was lying face down in a pillow on his bed. As much as he wanted to say, 'I told you so' he refrained from doing so.

*Bing*

Mingrui's phone lit up with a text message.

"Who is it?" Mingrui asked, His words muffled by the pillow. Hanyu looked at his phone.

"It's Y/N." Mingrui's head shot up, he snatched his phone from Hanyu and read your message.

Hey GouGou, I'm sorry but I don't really think that us being a thing is going to work out I don't know if this was an experimental date, perhaps a joke, for you or not but either way. Thanks for paying for our food though, I appreciate it. Have a good day.

"What's wrong?" Hanyu saw the way Mingrui's face fell when he read what you wrote.

"They..." He stopped. "They don't want to see me anymore."

"What you two literally only when on one date? How could they already not want to see you?"

"I'm guessing you were right, maybe I was too much of an ass." Hanyu frowned as the boy started tearing up. Of course, of the sake of his pride, he quickly wiped his eyes. He didn't want to cry in front of Hanyu.

"Come here Rui it's okay." The older boy wrapped his arms around Mingrui. He didn't cry, but he felt like he might. Mingrui and Hanyu sat in that position for awhile. "I'm sorry, I know you really liked them." 

"Yeah, I really did."
