Picture this - its 2018, Rick Riordan Presents is a few months old and has wowed the audiences with Aru Shah and the End of Time. The Burning Maze is pretty new and people are still in shock from Jason's death. Expectations for this book are sky-high. And does it meet them?

First off, even though this doesn't affect the rating, I can definitely say that the covers of this and the rest of the trilogy are the best of Rick RIordan Presents. The only book cover that might be better than theirs is that of City of the Plague God.

Now, for the writing:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
(around the 4.8-5 star range)

Pros of the book:

- The book was hilarious
- I can't think of a single part of the book where I got bored
- Zabrooks was there from the very start, but it was never crazy (I can't say the same for the Shadow Crosser though - but more on that later)
- It was nice to make people who were supposed to be heroes and everything actually evil
- The book was incredibly creative
- I liked how it had the point of view of a disabled person, and their lives
- The fact that all of Zane's prior knowledge of Aztec mythology came from a picture book was kind of funny
- The overall plot was pretty much perfect

 Now, for the few cons:

- This one is kind of minor, but I was sad that Rosie had such a small part (because she died)
However, it did add some encouragement to Zane
- I think Zane's power to speak to anyone through the mind by contact was a little OP - maybe if it was just limited to half-breeds or animals or humans it would be a little better?
Meh, I can't really think of a solution to that though
