I rolled over in my comforter and the sunlight streaming in my room hit my face. Thank god it was Saturday and I got to sleep in, or so I thought.
"Wake up sleepy head!" Carter yelled jumping on the end of the bed.
"Ugh! Who even let you in?!" I groaned.
"Your mom! I came looking for you because I needed to show you a pack tradition and she said I'd find you up here." He stated plopping down on the bed next to me.
"What pack tradition?"
"THAT is a surprise but first, when do I get another one of those kisses you gave me last night?" He smiled.
"Of course it is, and hmmmm right about now." I smiled back and leaned over to give him a quick kiss.
"Much better, now come on! Get dressed in something you can run in!" He jumped off the bed and bounded down the stairs.
I groaned and rolled out of bed. After taking a quick shower and brushing my teeth I straightened my hair and searched my closet. I ended up deciding on a pair of white shorts and my Mean Girls t-shirt with white Converse. I ran down the steps but slowed when realization hit. I smelled French toast. Homemade French toast. My mom couldn't cook.
"What's going on?" I asked slowly.
"I made breakfast!" Carter chirped.
"I though you couldn't cook."
"I can't Justin showed me how this morning."
"Ah."
"Oh, and by the way your mom went to go grocery shopping and said she'd see you when you got home later tonight."
"You talked to my mom?"I asked, sitting at the counter.
"Yep! She was leaving when I came downstairs." He told me, handing me a plate of toast.
"Thanks!"
"Your welcome! And feel special because I don't cook for anyone else!"
"Well then I'm honoured." I smiled.
"You better be!" He joked.
We finished our toast and Carter took both of our plates to the sink. I stood up to walk outside to his car and he stopped me.
"What?" I asked.
"You have to put this on first!"
He handed me a blindfold.
"To leave my house?!"
"Yes."
"How am I supposed to get to your car?"
"You aren't. Were walking. Well, I'm walking."
"I don't understand." I frowned.
"Just put the blindfold on and climb on my back." He sighed.
I did as he said and he carried me outside, pausing to lock the door with my key. He carried me for about ten more minutes until he finally put me down and removed the blindfold. We were in the woods behind his house that were next to the beach in a large clearing. Makeshift bases made a diamond shape and some pack members were forming teams. Baseball.
"Ali and I are on seperate teams!" Carter declared.
"What?!" I yelled.
~
It was the bottom of the nineth and both teams were tied. I was on first base with no out and Justin was batting.
"Come on Justin you got this!" I yelled, clapping my hands getting ready to run.
It just so happened that Carter was third baseman and I would have to pass him to get to home. Again. Eli pitched and Justin hit it right down the center in between two outfielders. Justin and I ran at full speed as the blonde boy picked the ball off the ground. I passed second, and third as Carter caught the ball and began to chase me. I slid into home and he dived after me.
"Safe!" The "umpire" yelled.
"You got beat by a she wolf!" I yelled at Carter.
"Shut up! I should get another kiss for that!" He pouted.
"Needy." I teased as I sat up to kiss him.
"Whatever." He groaned against my lips. And kissed me again.
