Ugh! What is that annoying ringing noise? I rolled to my side to be faced with my alarm clock. Oh, yeah right, school.

Senior year, they say its supposed to be the best part of high school. But with me starting at a new school this year, I doubted it.

I crawled out of bed and headed to the bathroom attached to my room. I showered and brushed my teeth before I went over and picked out my outfit. I chose a pair of high waisted shorts, a black crop top that said "Party Animal" in white, and a pair of black converse. I curled my hair and applied light makeup. Even with it curled my brown hair fell to my waist. After doing all that I still had about a half hour before I had to leave. Wow, not having to bundle up for school sure did save time.

I walked down my steps to find my mom wasn't awake yet. But by the sounds of it someone else was.

"Carter! Listen to me for once! This is a terrible idea!!" Justin  yelled.

"You can't tell me what to do Justin!!" Another voice yelled back.

"You know what? Your right! But at least I have common sense!!"

I decided to stop listening at that point because even I could tell that the conversation was going badly and that wasn't my business.

I grabbed a bowl of cereal and plopped down on the couch. About twenty five minutes later my mom still wasn't up. Oh well, I didn't want to wake her so I would just ask Justin for a ride. Hopefully he said yes.

I grabbed my bag and left my house, locking the door behind me. Justin was thankfully just leaving.

  "Hey!Justin!" I called.

"Oh , hey Ali! What's up?"

"My mom is still asleep can you give me a ride to school?"

"Yeah sure! No problem at all!"

  "Really?" I asked in disbelief.

  " Sure! Come on!"

I followed Justin to curb to his shiny black Jeep.

  "Nice Jeep." I stated.

" Thanks, its my brothers and I's. He picked it out."

  "You have a brother?"

" Yeah he just got back yesterday afternoon, he'll be at school today." Justin clinched his jaw when he talked about his brother.

  "Cool."

"Yeah, cool." Justin mumbled under his breath.

  Hm. That was weird.

When Justin pulled into the lot my mouth fell open. Amberwood High School was huge. Banners that said "Go Timberwolves!" were everywhere in big, bright yellow letters. Justin drove to the very middle of the lot and parked next to a red pickup truck where two girls, one redhead and one brunette were leaning on the passenger side door. Not moving at all as Justin pulled in beside them.

"One of these days I'm going to hit one of you and say I told you so." Justin laughed as he climbed out of the Jeep.

" Carter would kill you if you ran over his Beta!" The redhead joked. Her face paled as she saw me.

"Who is she?" The brunette asked.

"Guys, this is Ali. She's my new neighbor." Justin introduced.

The redhead immediately smiled.

"Hi I'm Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Eli."

  "Nice to meet you Eli!"
