There's a saying what comes around goes around. I had no doubt about that, as I sit here waiting for Carter to wake up and discover what had happened to him. I had to ask for directions to the kitchen a couple times, but it was well worth putting distance between the two of us.
Turns out behind her bubbly personality Eli was an evil genius. She had the perfect way to get back at Carter for cheating in the woods and calling my mother behind my back. He was going to be so mad that Eli advised I run when I see him or hear him come close. He was going to be fuming and would stop at nothing to get me so he would be able to sneak up on me in the woods. Somehow I had to stay out of the woods and away from the tree line, while also running away from him. I wonder how much longer he planned to sleep because I-
"ALI!!!!!!" Carter screamed.
Guess he was up. I stood up and prepared to run as soon as I saw him. However when he reached the kitchen door he stopped running and stood there staring at me.
"I know it was you!" He yelled at me.
"I have no idea what your talking about." I played innocent.
"My car." He hissed holding up a piece of paper I left on his pillow.
When my eyes landed on the piece of paper I couldn't help but burst into laughter.
As soon as Carter fell asleep last night Eli and I snook outside and wrote all over his car in pink lipstick. That ought to stand out on his black paint job. If there was one thing Carter cared about more then anything it was his reputation. Think about what would happen if people saw his car looking that girly, he would be embarrassed beyond belief. Now imagine what would happen if a picture of said car would happen to appear on Facebook and Twitter. Needless to say he was not to happy when he woke up to find a screenshot of Eli and I's masterpiece on his Facebook wall on his pillow.
I finally stopped laughing and when I faced him the look in his eyes made me bolt for the hallway to get to the front door. Justin saw me running and Carter chasing me and opened the door for me. Now, all I had to do was stay away from the woods. I ran thinking about where I could when I suddenly stopped and turned around. My whole body froze in place. I couldn't hear his footsteps or see him chasing me. I was dead I just knew it. Either way he would find me. Unless, I got back inside before he did, found the way I came, and ask Justin for a ride home. That might just work!
I ran as fast as I could towards the porch. I thanked my lucky stars when I didn't see him there waiting for me. I flung the door open, thinking I was going to see Justin, only to come face to face with the devil himself. Carter.
I was a deer in the headlights. Unable to move out of the spot I stood in. He stepped forward and I took a step back. He smirked and took another step, as did I.
"What are you afraid of sweetheart?
Do I scare you?" He mocked.
"I would never be scared of you." I told him. What?! Why did I just say that?!
His smirk grew into a sinister smile and he stool another step. But I could not. If I took another step I would fall right off the porch, and he was well aware. Somehow though I knew he would never hurt me.
He closed the distance between us and slightly pushed me backwards but caught me by my waist before I fell to the ground. But now, the only way I was staying on this porch was if he held me up. I knew he wouldn't stop me so I just had to act as though I wasn't terrified of falling.
"Want to take that back?" He asked me.
"No." I snapped.
He lightened his grip so I fell a little before he caught me again.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Positive." I hissed.
He stared at me for a minute before he pulled me up to my feet.
"This isn't over!" He warned me.
Oh, I didn't have a doubt in my mind about that.
