A/N please try to remember this is my first attempt to write on here and am trying my hardest!
As three o'clock rolled around my stomach was in knots. At two-thirty Carter was picking me up and taking me to the entrance of the woods. There we would wait until ten till and he would take me to meet Johnathan. Worries ran through my head as to what could go wrong. What if someone got hurt? What if Johnathan saw through our plan and we were walking into an ambush?
Carter knocking on my door pushed my thoughts aside. I opened the door for him and he walked straight past me into my living room.
"Before we go today I need you to do something." He told me.
"What?"
"Become an official member of the pack so I can hear your thoughts."
"Will it hurt?"
"Only a little." He admitted.
"What do I have to do?"
"Come here." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me into the kitchen. When we reached the counter he pulled a knife out of the drawer and held it in his hand.
"Close your eyes and count to ten." He instructed.
I closed my eyes and began to count to ten. Around two I felt a sharp pain in my hand and winced.
"Shhh its ok. Just keep counting it will get better." He cooed.
He grabbed my hand and put my palm against his. I felt the spot in my hand, where the pain was coming from, meet something warm and gooey that smelt like pennies. Blood. My eyes shot open to see our blood mixing together through our palms.
"Relax. Its how you join the pack." He cooed.
I shut my eyes tightly to try to relieve the stinging. That's when the voices started pouring in.
"He wants all mates to stay home today."
"Where is he?"
" We may have a new.."
"ENOUGH."
That last thought was Carters voice as he saw me wincing from all of the thoughts flowing through my head.
"Are you ok?" He asked softly.
"What was that?!" I yelled.
"The packs thoughts. Your in my pack now so you can hear everyones thoughts, unless they put their guard up."
"How do I put my guard up?"
"I'll teach you that after we meet Johnathan today because right now we have to leave."
"What if something happens today?"
"Nothings going to happen. I promise." He whispered, taking my face in his hands and kissing me. I laced my hands into his and held them there as I kissed him back. What was this boy doing to me?!
He pulled away a while later but still held onto my hand. He led me to the forest and down the path we were taking to the clearing where we had met before. He let go of my hand and grabbed both of my wrists pinning them behind my back with one of his hands around them both.
"Pretend like your afraid and trying to escape. When I let you go in the clearing run to your left as fast as you can." He whispered in my ear.
I nodded my head and began to do as I was told. He gently pushed me forward and down the path. I couldn't see the pack, no matter how much I tried, but I could hear their thoughts. They were filled with worry much like my own. We reached the clearing and there stood Jonathan with his hands behind his back.
"Well, well. I have to admit I didnt think it would be this easy!" Johnathan laughed.
"I'm doing what's best for the pack. I am not having a repeat of the last time we encountered each other. That devastated the pack and my brother. There is no need for a repeat. She's not worth it." Carter snapped.
His words hurt, a lot. I had to remind myself over and over what he said about not listening.
Carter pushed me hard into the clearing and I ran to my left. However, Johnathan was faster. Within a second he had me pulled against his chest, with my head in a position that he could easily snap my neck.
He let out a small chuckle.
"Come on. You can't honestly think I believed what you told me?! You made it too easy. Anyone with eyes can tell she's your mate. She might nor know it, but I know you know it. I'm honestly offended you think of me as that stupid. Now, how about I snap her pretty little neck right in front of your eyes."
"Wait! I have something better!" Carter pleaded.
"What could possibly be better?" Johnathan taunted.
"Me. Take me." Carter stated.
No.
I tried reaching him through the mind link but his guard was up. I tried to shake my head at him but Johnathan tightened his grip.
"Now, tell your pack to stay back before they get hurt, and come here."
Carters jaw tightened his jaw at behind told an order but he obeyed. As sson as Carter was in reaching distance Johnathan pushed me way and whipped out a syringe to inject Carter. Wolfsbane. I screamed and Justin's arms pulled me further away from Carter a s he was being pulled away by Johnathan.
"What are you doing?! Help him!" I screamed at Justin.
"I can't. No one can. He Alpha commanded us. He didn't want to take a single chance to have you getting hurt. Odds are Johnathan has people working for him further in the woods because he wouldn't do this alone." Justin whispered sadly.
"Carter?"
"Ali!" Thank God! He put his guard down!
"What's going to happen to you?"
"I don't know."
"Am I really your mate?"
"I'm sorry. I wanted to wait until tomorrow when you found out." A tear rolled down my face as the realization hit me.
"What do I do?"
"Help Justin lead."
"I'll find you."
"Forever mine Ali."
"Forever mine Carter."
