"Is there really a reason too this?" I asked.

I was bent over, my hands on my knees as I panted heavily. My hair was pulled back as far as it could be, my neck completely covered in sweat along with the rest of my body.

Erwin stood in front of me in the dark, his chest heaving along with mine, just not as heavily.

It was 7 in the afternoon, the sun completely down.

Erwin was forcing me to run with him around camp, trying to make me stronger. Even though he fucking put me through hand to hand combat with him, Mike, and fucking Levi.

Yeah, I lost every time. And so what? It's inevitable.

"To build your endurance. You have to have a lot of it when using our gear," he said, and I groaned.

The two of us were in sweatpants and t-shirts. I stood up, letting out a heavy breath as the cool air of the night scraped across my exposed skin.

"Ugh," I groaned even more, rubbing my thighs. My legs were literally shaking. Erwin noticed and let out a small huff.

"We're done for the day, we'll pick back up tomorrow," he said, and my head dropped.

"If you insist." I took a step forward and winced in pain. Yup, definitely will be dead by tomorrow morning.

"You and Mike at least pulled your punches, Levi just doesn't give a flying rats ass." I rubbed my tailbone, walking alongside the blonde man.

It's been 2 weeks since we had gotten Levi, Farlan and Isabel. Meaning it's been about 4 weeks since I've been here.

If I'm being honest, it hasn't been too bad. Other than all this damn training Erwin has been putting me through.

While fuck nuts who was in charge of Levi and Farlan, training them, Isabel was training with another female Scout. I was just the lucky one to end up with Erwin.

Although he was a Captain, he had got his paperwork done fast. My only break was breakfast, dinner, and when I slept at night. Usually around 8 when we had gotten done with dinner, and Erwin was stuck with paperwork the rest of the night.

I had ended up spending most of my time with Erwin, as I am his responsibility. Just like Farlan and Levi are Flagons responsibility. Ugh, I fucking hate Flagon.

Anyways, Erwin and I were walking across the empty dirt training grounds in silence, making our way to the lit up buildings.

"I think I'm going to be turning in for the night," I yawned. Getting my ass beat is tiring.

"You sure you don't want to eat first?" Erwin asked, and I hummed.

"Yes, I can just eat in the morning." I said.

He was quiet as he accompanied me along the way to the women's barracks. I let out a strained groan as I walked up the steps, hearing the creaking underneath my weights as I walked along the deck of the porch.

"It's not that bad." Erwin rolled his eyes, skipping a step as he walked up beside me.

"You, have no idea." I said, and Erwin rolled his blue eyes again, an amused smile on his lips.

I looked up at him, observing the smile on his face.

Although he didn't get too much screen time compared to the others, whenever he was on the screen he never smiled a lot.

"You should smile more," I commented, reaching for my mask in my pocket, and going to put it on. But, Erwin grabbed my wrist, keeping it down.

"And you should show your face more." He said, tilting his head a little as his eyes took a glance down, before returning to my eyes.
