|10| Stupid girls

I panted heavily, my hands up on my head as I just got done with 5 miles of running with 50 pounds on my back.

Beside me was Levi, who was also panting, but, not as heavily as me.

Levi and I were the first ones out of the entire Scouts Regiment to complete the 5 mile jog. Which, is honestly pitiful, seeing as though Levi wasn't originally a soldier, and I was, well, me.

The Squad Leaders were waiting at the end of the trail, some of their arms crossed and others with smiles on their face.

"Good job you two!" Hanji congratulated. Me and Levi just nodded.

"This stuff is heavy." I adjusted my bag full of random shit that weighed me down, my arms dropping to my sides tiredly.

"You two can take it off, since you're done," Erwin said in Japanese, causing the two of us to do what he said.

It's been 3 weeks in total since the last expedition, and however longer than that that I've been here.

In that time, Erwin has literally forced me to sit down and read books in Japanese and translate them for him. Every. Single. Day.

So, my Japanese has gotten a lot better. And, I've lost weight, seeing it being replaced with more muscle than what it normally was.

Erwin was also officially the new Commader of the Survey Corps. After that last expedition, Shadis thought it'd be best to give in and just give Erwin the position.

"Nice job keeping up with me, brat," Levi said, making me turn towards him and nod.

"Thanks Levi!" I wasn't fluent with talking in Japanese yet. I could write it and read it, but speaking it was a whole new thing that I just can't wait to learn. Sarcasm.

Levi has been helping tutor me in Japanese when Erwin wasn't around. He would see me with a book in my hand, struggling to write down the translation. So, he'd help explain to me what it meant in French.

He also started picking up on how to speak English. Since there's really nothing else to do around here, it's probably what's most productive for him.

"You two may go and change, then go to the mess hall for dinner. The others will be joining you, shortly," Erwin said with his hands behind his back. I stared at him for a little, before nodding. Yeah, long sentences are a pain in the ass.

I bent down and grabbed my backpack, slinging the heavy ass object over my back and walking beside Levi. By now, the whole camp knew that Levi and myself were sharing a room. They all thought that it was 'unfair' and this and that.

They all just needed to grow up.

"I'm going to go and shower," Levi announced once the two of us entered our room. I just threw my backpack in the corner, turning towards Levi with a raised eyebrow.

"Shower," he repeated in French, causing me to nod.

"Okay, I might as well, too." Levi nodded his head at my Japanese pronunciation. Though I speak slowly compared to others, I was speaking everything correctly, which is what mattered.

I went into the dresser in the corner of my side of the room, pulling out a pair of black joggers and a black t-shirt. I grabbed my undergarments with socks, tossing a towel into my pile of clothes before grabbing ahold of the shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash I had been given.

Levi was already out of the room, and I was sloppily following behind him with my black boots in my hands.

Once I got to the girls showers, I was very pleased to find out that no one was there.
