Ximena's POV

Piper led me out of the house as the darkness grew. Huge torches lit up the path to the plaza, making my finger tips tingle with excitement. Curious, I gazed at the fire and, with super concentration, stretched my fingers, imagining the fire growing brighter. Sure enough, it managed to glow brighter than ever, and Piper looked at me, with some fear in her eyes.

"Luna..." I shook my head, frustrated. I had barely done anything, and I was already tired.

"I'm trying to figure it out. It's like everytime I see it...I have to try." I walked to her side, and I caught the wariness in her eyes. She had been a lot more jumpy around me and fire since the first time we fought. "Piper, I won't lose control of it. I'm fine-" She interjected with a sigh.

"Luna, there are legends of humans with powers like this in our world. They usually end up being cursed or worse...cursing others. I think you need to lay off the power if you want to stay alive." I flinched at her harsh tone, silently wondering whether they were true. At this point, I was willing to believe anything. "I'm sorry, that was mean. I'm just saying-"

"Guys, what are you doing? The ceremony is waiting!" We ran after Michaelangelo, my heart beating hard. Tonight, I will become an official member of the pack, the official Luna. From this moment on, I will never turn back from my pack, no matter what. That meant that no matter what, I will need to confide in Lorcan in everything. We need to act as a team rather than two different people. God, this is nerveracking. "Have fun, Mena!" We reached the plaza and next thing I know, the drums began to sound, bringing a primitive need to my heart. The dance began.

Michaelangelo's POV

I watched as my cousin walked towards the plaza, her eyes completely black. In her hands, I saw two knives, sharp and ready to cut. I was tempted to take them from her, but by the way the other shifters were gazing at her, I figured that this was normal.

Lorcan was on the other side, his hand bleeding profusely. His eyes were black as well, this time fixed on his mate. They came together, and while she swayed towards him, I saw how she cut her arms with the knives, allowing the blood to bleed through her arms. I flinched at the sight of it, but the people around me began to smile. She obviously felt the pain from the blade and she tripped into his arms. He held her up, and their eyes matched, creating a sort of disturbance within us all. Immediately, all I could do was sway with the music like the others. There wasn't anyone else, just the Alpha and Luna. Lorcan put his hand on her bloody arm, and a startling noise came into my ears.

Luna...Luna...Luna...Luna...

It was such an unearthly sound, and I realized that, for the first time, I was involved in something supernatural. I couldn't help but watch them move however. Her head started to look around, at us with confusion.

LUNA LUNA LUNA!!

"NÁ TÚ GLACADH ME, LUNA? NÁ TÚ GLACADH DO ALPHA!?" (Do you accept me, Luna? Do you accept your Alpha?) In a feral scream, my cousin answered,

"YES!" Then, I saw him rip up the dress around the collarbone, and I gasped as his teeth elongated. I woke up then, and I wanted to run to Ximena and save her, but someone held me back. I spun around to see Grace pushing Jess around in the wheel chair. As I looked into her blue eyes, I couldn't help but feel like there was something haunting in them.

"For Mena to protect the pack, this needs to happen. She needs to become one of us." Right as she said that, I turned around to see him bite viciously into her skin. A strangled cry left her lips, but I had an eerie feeling that it wasn't painful...at all.
