Axel"What do you want?" I asked, seemingly irritated by the presence of this particular girl seeing as she had been the reason behind Lyric ignoring me yesterday. Yes it was Saturday afternoon and this... thing appears to ruin my day.
"Can I talk to you?" She asked, dipping her head and tucking a stray hair behind her ear. She looked up at me from under her thick lashes, batting them a few times before looking down again. What was she trying to do?
"You're already talking to me." I stated, looking everywhere but at her and impatiently tapping my foot. She was annoying. Everything about her was annoying. I don't know what I saw in her yesterday, but today she was annoying and now that I found her annoying, I found every little thing she did annoying.
Amber was annoying.
"N-no." She sighed, peering up at me from under her lashes. She should really stop doing that, it was getting to me. I mean, was I that bad to look at? Couldn't she look me dead in the eye and talk to me? Or did she think it was cute? Because she looked like she had a neck cramp and those things aren't cute. They make you look handicap. "I meant in like.. Private. Like at the café down the block."
"That's public." I deadpanned. She just giggled and looked up at me like I cracked a funny joke, but I wasn't trying to be funny, I was trying really hard to get her pissed off so she'd walk away. But apparently the tables were turning as I realised I was the one getting pissed. She had no brain cells for her to register the insult.
"I just wanted a drink while at it." She smiled, that annoying white toothed smile that was no where near Lyric's-
"Sure." I nodded. I'd do anything to get Lyric off my mind this moment. Even this thirsty chick would have to do for a distraction because Lyric had been on my mind all week long, ever since I met her. But even now I could tell something was up. Her style changed, her confidence dimmed and she's shut everyone out, even Sam. And that was unusual, even for her I guess.
But what did I know? Apart from the fact that she'd changed a lot in the years that she'd gone. Apart from the fact that she was my very attractive next door neighbour who thought of me as nothing less than a man-whore?
I was trying to get to know why she was acting so different on Friday when I was talking to her after she'd missed two whole days of schools, but then she brought up the brain dead red head in front of me. The red head who so confidently seduced me and put me through all this shit in the first place. But then again, Ric was Reeky. The Reeky I put through so much hell, the Reeky who'd never fall for me. So at the same time it was my fault but she'd have to give me a chance to prove myself right?
But why would she when she's already seen what I was capable of? Why would she when she's proven to me what she thinks of me?
There was so many buts in this little information I knew of her that I realised I knew nothing at all about the girl I had my eyes on.
"Hey Ax?" Said Amber, breaking me out from my reverie as she lightly placed her palm against my forearm.
"What?" I asked, eyeing her fingers as she traced them along my tattoos, all the way to right under my elbow. I had an itch to slap it off but she spoke right before I got the chance.
"I'm cold." She said, removing her hands and placing them on her opposite arm, rubbing it for 'warmth'.
I looked her dead in the eye as she batted her eyes at me, "And I don't give a fück." I said, shoving past her.
