Violet and Ara made their way to potions together. They hadn't seen the boys all day but didn't think much of it, they were probably off pranking someone.
The two girls who used to be inseparable were seen less and less together as of late. Nothing had happened per se but due to Arabella's new friendships with the boys and Violet's strict studying, they simply didn't have time. However, they had recently planned to spend as much time as possible together. It was their second last year and who knew what was to come.
The two Gryffindors were the first to arrive in class and were warmly greeted by Slughorn before making their way to their desks. Not long after, students began piling in.
"So, you and James?" Violet said slyly
Arabella scoffed, she had heard it all from the marauders, Liam, Griffin, and even Regulus. According to them, they were a "match made in heaven". Arabella thought they were absolutely ridiculous.
"yes?" she said cluelessly
"Ara I've known you since first year, you're my best friend and I love you but you must think I'm absolutely daft if you think I haven't seen how you two look at each other."
"it's true, it's like there's no one else in the room" Liam spoke suddenly.
"where the fuck did you come from?" Ara said accusingly
"don't try and change the subject Silvers" Liam spoke as Violet snickered
"I do not have the hots for James ok? Sure I think he's a little handsome and he's above-average sweet. He makes me feel at home and sometimes he's the only one who can make me feel safe. And yes, if he was the last man on earth maybe, maybe I would consider it. Ok maybe not the last man, I'd say like a solid 100. Well- oh my merlin, I have the hots for James" Arabella said with wide eyes.
Violet burst out laughing and Liam grumbled placing 10 galleons in Violet's hand
"you bet on me?" Ara deadpanned
"why of course twinkle" Vi winked
"Seriously, you couldn't have waited till Easter?" Liam grumbled
Arabella went to say something sarcastic when four boys came barging in. The Marauders waltzed in as if they were kings.
Ara caught James' eye, he winked at her causing her to roll her eyes.
"Good morning students! Today we will be looking at amortentia, can anyone tell me what it is?" Slughorn asked
Arabella rolled her eyes but raised her hand nonetheless.
"Ms. Silvers" Slughorn gestured
"Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the world. It is distinctive for its mother-of-pearl sheen, and steam rises from the potion in spirals. Amortentia smells different to each person, according to what attracts them" Ara spoke
