Lizzie's pov

My alarm chimed at 6:30am and I groaned at the irritating noise that I was forced to wake to every morning. I looked over at Josie's bed, she was already up - as usual - and was probably down in the library or somewhere else downstairs. Reluctantly I got up from under my warm covers and walked to Josie's and my bathroom to shower. After getting dressed and doing my hair and make-up I walked out of my dorm, checking the clock before I left - 6:55am. I couldn't really think of anything else to do and I always got bored in the mornings so I walked down the hall to Hope's dorm and knocked, not waiting for an answer as I strolled into the room. Landon was there too but it's not like I was surprised and I barge into his dorm when he's trying to sleep all the time too so I wasn't really fazed by that. They were still half-asleep, just lying in bed. When they heard me come in they both looked up tiredly, acknowledging my arrival, then Landon closed his eyes again and Hope turned onto her other side, facing me as I walked around her side of the bed and lay on top of the blankets next to her.

"Hey..." she murmured into the pillow.

"You guys know it's like seven 'o'clock and we have another stupid assembly in half an hour, right?" I asked casually, watching as their eyes flew open and they immediately woke up.

"What?" Landon asked, sitting up and checking the time. Hope sat up too, looking at Landon alarmed. "Shit," he muttered, "we have to get up," Landon said, grabbing Hope's hand.

"Yup, that's my que, I'm gonna go find something else to pass the time," I said, sitting up, "meet you guys in the assembly hall?" I asked as I stood up and started walking towards the door.

"Yeah sure," Landon said.

"See you soon," Hope yelled behind her as I left her room, wondering what I'd do for the next thirty minutes. As I was walking down the halls I literally ran into MG, almost knocking a comic out of his hand, although he just managed to catch it.

"Morning," he laughed, looking at me and smiling,

"Hey, sorry, I wasn't really paying much attention," I replied apologetically, smiling back at him.

"It's all good," he assured me "where are you headed?" he asked.

"To be honest with you I don't really know, I'm kind of just wandering around aimlessly at this point," I admitted, laughing under my breath.

"Well I'm going to my dorm to read this for a while or something," he paused, holding up the comic in his hand, then, "want to come?"

"I don't know MG, comics aren't really my thing,"

"Ok, that's a lie and you know it," MG said, still smiling at me. I couldn't help smiling back at him.

"Ok," I sighed, I did love spending time with MG and I definitely don't hate comic books as much as I say I do.

"Cool," he replied, and we walked back to his room and read one of his comic books until it was time to go to the assembly hall for the pointless Thursday morning assembly.

Alyssa Chang left school within a week after we sent The Necromancer and Malivore to the prison world and went to some other all witch boarding school in Massachusetts. MG and her had only really kissed the night of the massive party and never actually dated. I hadn't told MG about me liking him yet, even though it's been a whole month since we bet Malivore and I might never tell him. Every time I see him I can't help but smile and when he smiles back my whole body aches to just kiss him but I'm also scared that after so long he's not even interested anymore.

"Hey, earth to Lizzie..." I heard MG saying my name and snapped back into reality, "Come on, we gotta go."

"Oh, yeah right, obviously," I said, putting down his comic book and standing up from the armchair I was sitting in. MG and I walked down stairs to the assembly hall and lost each other at some point along the way, luckily I spotted Hope and Landon waving to me from one of the rows near the back on the left side of the aisle and I went and sat next to them. I wasn't really listening to anything my dad was saying during the assembly but I did manage to find MG, Kaleb, Josie and Jed sitting near the front on the right side of the aisle. I tried to subtly wave but none of them saw me. I zoned back in when Hope hit my arm a little harder than she probably meant to.

"Ouch," I whispered, giving her a death glare.

"Lizzie, look," She nodded at my dad who I noticed was going slightly pale.

"Um... ah, and that'll be all for today's assembly, if everyone could take the side exit out of the room with absolutely no questions asked because that is a perfectly normal and not at all out of the ordinary request, that'd be great. Thanks." Dad stuttered quickly, trying to get everyone out of the hall as fast as he could, by the looks of it.

"Yeah, something weird is definitely happening," Landon murmured so only Hope and I could hear. Most of the students just rolled their eyes and went along with what he said, not caring at all about what could be happening - but there were a few who stayed seated. Landon, Hope, MG, Josie, Kaleb, Jed and I all didn't move until the rest of the students had left the room and only then did we stand up, still not moving from our places.

"Ok, what the hell was that, Doc?" Kaleb asked.

"What was what? It's nothing, everything's fine." Dad replied, he was such a terrible liar sometimes it was hard to tell if he was seriously lying or just doing it as a joke.

"Seriously, we're gonna play that game?" Josie said, crossing her arms.

"Rick, just tell us what's going on," Hope sighed, clearly growing impatient with him.

"Fine," my dad sighed, "Look behind you," With that we all turned our heads to find a woman I had never seen before in my life.

"Ok..." I started. "Why do we care, let's just find out what the fuck she wants and compel her to leave. It's that simple."

"Lizzie," Hope kept tapping my arm to get my attention.

"What, that's what we're gonna do, am I wrong?" I asked, looking at her again.

"Lizzie, it's Seylah." Hope said with barely any expression in her voice.

"What..." I stuttered quietly, looking at her then to Landon beside her, he looked at me and nodded slightly, confirming Hope's statement. "Seylah?" I looked back at her flabbergasted and utterly speechless.

"Wait... you're Landon's birth Mum?" Josie, Kaleb, Mg and Jed all said in complete unison.

"Aren't you supposed to be in Malivore?" Josie asked, by herself this time.

"Seylah, how the hell did you get here?" Landon asked, tentative but loud enough for everyone to hear.
