Jed's pov

We all had a plan for today. In all of Hope's classes at least one member of the Super Squad had that class with her, so there'll be someone with her all day. Josie and Hope had first period together, Lizzie was with her second period, Landon third, me fourth and Kaleb and MG had fifth.

It's the middle of fourth period Lycanthropy now and Hope and I are sitting at the same bench while the teacher drones on and on. He's talking about famous alphas, today of all fucking days. So far he's just covered the really old, really dead alphas from centuries ago but I'm positive Hayley will be mentioned soon enough - she was the alpha to a pack of super-wolves! I don't even know why they're teaching us this anyway, we already know it, we learnt this in eighth grade. I guess it's just revision for exam week soon.

"Who can tell me which pack is the strongest in history?" Mr Duncan asked.

"The crescent pack." a wolf named Mindy answered.

"Yes, the alpha of their pack in 2013 married the bloodline alpha of the crescent pack who was thought to be dead. She was a descendent of the Lebonair line - the crescent pack's alpha family - and she was a werewolf-vampire hybrid. They had been betrothed at birth but because of her species when they married the entire pack was given the gift of being able to turn at will. Does anyone know the names of the two alphas?" He explained and then asked. He was looking at Hope like he was expecting her to answer. I hoped he wouldn't actually ask her.

"Hope? Can you tell us?" Asshole. For all this guy knows about famous alphas he seems to have forgotten the days that they died.

Hope looked up from where she had been staring at the table all period. She looked tired, and annoyed.

"Mr Duncan, maybe we cou-"

"Quiet Mr Tian, I asked Miss Mikaelson." He interrupted, this dude really couldn't get a clue.

"You don't have to answer if you don't want to," I whispered to Hope beside me but she shook her head.

"Jackson Kenner and Hayley Marshall-Kenner." She said, looking straight at him now.

"Correct. And as I'm sure most of you know, Miss Mikaelson knows a lot more about this topic. Can you tell us more about Jackson Kenner and Hayley Kenner, Hope?"

"Hayley Marshall-Kenner." she corrected.

"Yes of course, same thing. Can you tell us about them? Maybe where they lived, when they died and where their funerals were. Or where people can go to pay their respects." More than half the students in the class were subtly shaking their heads at him to get him to stop but he really had no clue what day it was.

Hope was trying her best not to lose it.

"Jackson Kenner lived in the bayou outside of New Orleans his whole life, he died in 2014 when he was murdered by Tristan de Martel and his funeral was also in the bayou, on the lake. If people wanted to pay their respects they'd go to the Alpha trees near where the pack lives, his name will be carved into one. Just like you would for every other alpha in every other pack that has ever existed. Obviously." I can't even begin to imagine how he couldn't notice that she doesn't want to talk about this judging by the fact that she was replying while gritting her teeth.

"Yes, and Hayley Kenner?"

"Hayley Marshall-Kenner!" Hope replied, raising her voice. She was really starting to get pissed off, you could tell.

"Miss Mikaelson you do not raise your voice in my class! Now, I have asked you a simple question and I expect you to answer it right now. The name Hayley Kenner is almost the exact same as Hayley Marshall-Kenner and if you don't want to answer my very simple questions then you might as well leave now and not come back!"

When he first asked her about Hayley I was worried she might break down crying about her mother in class but now I'm more worried about her ripping Mr Duncan's head off.

I felt the desk start to shake and books began falling off shelves around the room. I tried to get her to stop but her eyes were trained on Mr Duncan, glaring at him with malice. Students around the class began slipping under their desks like normal kids are taught to do in an earthquake, but at the Salvatore School you're taught to do it when a witch loses control.

Hope wasn't doing it on purpose - I could tell that - she was just angry and her magic was taking over. Her eyes turned gold just as the window began to smash. Mr Duncan was now levitating off the ground and Hope had her fist squeezed shut which seemed to be cutting off his air supply.

"Hope!" I yelled. "Hope!" She wasn't listening. I was the only kid in class who wasn't crouched under a desk and the others were probably really smart to do so but I couldn't just sit under a desk and wait for Hope to kill our teacher. She's my friend, and the guilt would be too much for her. Also he probably doesn't deserve to die just because he forgot that a Mikaelson's mother died today.

Outside the wind began to pick up and the sky went dark. I heard thunder crack through the air just before it started pouring. Not just raining, pouring. I'd known Hope since I was seven years old and I'd never seen her do anything like this.

I put my hand gently over her fist and she finally looked at me. After a second she seemed to come back and I saw her eyes change as she realized what she was doing. She opened her fist and Mr Duncan fell to the floor gasping for air, then she ran out of the room.

I chased after her down the hall, ignoring everyone's screams to let her go. She stopped and turned back to me, eyes watered with tears.

"Don't come any closer, Jed." She whispered, almost pleadingly.

"Okay, okay I'll stay right here." I agreed. "But just breathe, Hope." I'd dealt with Hope upset before when we were thirteen but not like this.

She was trying to calm down but it wasn't helping. Gusts of wind were blowing through the corridors and I moved a little but Hope freaked out and the next thing I knew I was lying on my back much further down the hall and my head was hurting like a bitch.

I looked up at Hope and saw her standing with tears on her face and her hands covering her mouth. She looked so upset that she thought I might be hurt and the second she saw I was fine she ran the other way down the hall and out into the storm.

Hey Guys, I know it's been a really long time since I've updated. We've gone back into lockdown where I live and I've been dealing with some pretty bad mental health stuff so I just took a little break but I'm going to try to update more regularly again. Hope everyone's doing okay❤️
