Hope's pov

Rebekah, Marcel and I followed Rick into his office and I shut the door behind us, Rebekah practically rolled her eyes the entire way there - she never liked Rick much.

"Hope," Rick sighed, he seemed to have calmed down but he still looked pissed.

"Rick," I repeated as Bex and Marcel sat in the chairs in front of his desk.

"Don't do that!" he snapped. "What were you thinking, bringing them here? What about the other students' safety? Did you even consider that?" He yelled, Marcel and Bex looked like they wanted to intervene but I shot back at him.

"Ok; one - I didn't bring them anywhere, they came on their own. Two - what are you so afraid they're going to do, go around killing everyone? And three - all I ever do is consider everyone else! I spend everyday worrying about and protecting everyone here while you do nothing! And what, you really thought they were never going to visit, not even at graduation?" I yelled at him, feeling the anger course through my veins. Mum never understood my temper, that all came from my dad and he was never really around to teach me to control it - not that he really knew how to control.

"That's not fair!" he retaliated. "I have spent the last ten years doing everything I can to keep everyone here safe! I practically raised all of you and it is my job to protect you all, sure, they're not going to go on some random rampage but they are not good influences on the young vampires at this school! MG, Kaleb, Hell, they're not even good influences on you!"

"Excuse me!?" Rebekah and Marcel tried yelling over us, offended by him saying their presence wasn't good for me.

I scoffed. "What's not fair," I started, tears pricking at the back of my eyes, my voice suddenly quiet but still acidic, "Is that you try and keep all of the biological family that I have left away from me, even this week. Even when I need them the most." I tried my best to keep the tremble out of my voice as I added the part about this week, flashes of my mother dancing through my skull.

Rick's face softened slightly as he realized I was talking about her, but I didn't wait for his response. Instead I just turned, walked out of the office and through the great room. Students began whispering when they saw me leave the room, most people in this school had supernatural hearing - those who hadn't heard the yelling first hand will have heard about it before dinner. I didn't care. I heard the yelling start up again once Rick had shut the door, Rebekah and Marcel sounded angry. Really angry, Mikaelson angry.

Landon's pov

I was in 'Undiscovered Species' - a new class on how to research weaknesses for monsters that you didn't even know existed or you don't know what they are - trying to take the necessary notes when Lizzie punched me in the arm. We're the only 'Super Squad' members in this class - we mainly already know all of this but we both thought it would be an easy subject for us to pass - so we always sit next to each other.

"Do you always have to hit me so hard?" I whisper.

"Shut up Muppet, look," she hands me her phone under the desk and I look at the screen.

MG: Hope and your dad just got in a massive screaming match and Hope walked out of school. She looked really upset, I think she went towards the woods.

I sigh and hand the phone back to her. I knew Hope was on the verge of a breakdown, between being sleep deprived, frustrated and her mother's anniversary tomorrow she's bound to explode sooner or later.

"You coming?" I whisper as I bend down to grab my bag, there is no way I'm staying in class while Hope is upset.

"No, we don't want to overwhelm her. I'll stay here," Lizzie whispers back and I nod, standing up from my chair and walking up to Dorian.
