Landon's pov

I woke up with my face nestled in Hope's hair and my arm dangled around her waist. She wasn't awake yet and I wasn't going to wake her, she had a long day ahead of her and as it was and she hasn't been sleeping well lately.

I stayed there for a few more minutes, kissing her shoulder through my shirt - which I liked way more on her - and holding her close so that her back was pressed into my chest.

She didn't stir at all. After a while I got up - careful not to wake her - and went to her bathroom to shower and get ready before leaving her dorm.

I walked down to the kitchen to make breakfast and ran into Lizzie attacking the jug.

"Calm down," I ran up to her laughing and managed to stop her from murdering it.

"It's stupid, it won't work," she pouted angrily.

"It was working yesterday," I replied, going to the pantry.

"I know but it's being an asshole today," she must've just woken up, she didn't seem entirely awake yet.

"Did you check if it's plugged in at the wall?" I asked.

"Yes," she said, clearly checking for the first time and turning it on at the wall. I laughed under my breath. "Hey it's not my fault!" she defended. "What kind of idiot turns the jug off?"

"Good point I guess. I'm getting some breakfast for when Hope wakes up, do you want anything?"

"I'll make you coffee if you get me a scone."

"What kind?" I asked, going back to the pantry and finding three containers of fresh scones of all different types.

"Anything without raisins,"

"Okay,"

Lizzie and I made three coffees and three scones before I went back to Hope's dorm.

She was awake by the time I got back, wandering around in her uniform trying to find everything she needed.

"Morning," I said as I walked in with breakfast.

"Hey, are those scones?" She seemed a little tense, I guessed because of her family visiting.

"Yeah," I put the plate down on her desk and grabbed her hands, wrapping them around my neck and holding her waist. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," she sighed. "I'm just distracted, that's all."

"Everything's going to be fine," I reassured her, kissing her forehead.

"I know," she smiled, "kinda," she added quickly, "I'm just a little nervous," she kept her gaze for a minute so that I knew she was okay. "And hungry, scones sound really good right now." I laughed and let go of her waist, letting her grab her scone and coffee off the desk.

Lizzie's pov

I said goodbye to Landon after we made breakfast and he left to go back to Hope's room. I stayed in the kitchen a little longer. I never really knew what to do in the mornings, if I got up later then I'd still be half asleep in my first period class but when I do get up on time I just wander around looking for something to do.

I decided it was best not to annoy Hope this morning, Landon told me about her family coming down while we made breakfast and knowing her she was going to be stressed enough as it was.

After a few minutes I decided to go up to the dorm rooms and see who was awake, most of the doors were shut and I didn't want to disturb anyone getting ready so I just kept walking until I found an open door just begging for me to walk in.
