Rejected For My Secrets

Chapter 12

I’ve been asked to write about the werewolf part of the story, so here it is! I never really did a werewolf scene except the last few paragraphs in the last chapter!

Chapter 12

I woke up to the sun shining brightly. Since when did it shine so brightly in my room? I opened my eyes, and when all I saw were trees and grass, the memories of last night came crashing back. The burning feeling in my chest came back as soon as I thought about last night’s events. My vision started getting blurry and I tried so hard not to cry, but I just couldn’t. Tears streamed down my face. As I wiped them away, I noticed that I am still in the middle of nowhere, naked.

I sat up and craned my neck, cracking it. Damn, sleeping on the floor is so uncomfortable. I felt up my hair, and just as I guessed, it was messy with chunks of soil every here and there. I picked the huge noticeable chunks and straightened my hair a little. I had to look normal when I approached my house. That’s only IF I found my house. What mess have I gotten myself into?! I’m sure it’s not safe for a pregnant woman to be in the forest on her own, exposed to all kinds of danger.

I transformed into my white wolf and ran between the trees, careful to avoid any other wolf. I didn’t know if I was going to end up home. Hell, I didn’t even know if I’m heading towards the right direction! I could be going to the exact opposite direction of where I came from last night for all I know! After running for about twenty minutes, I noticed that I have no idea where I am. But one thing that I know for sure is that I am no longer in my pack’s territory.

Damn! ‘What did I get myself into?!’ I thought for the second time since I woke up. I don’t want to seem like a threat to this pack’s territory! Terrified of the idea of being caught, I started running, running faster than ever.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a big brown wolf jumped on me and tackled me to the ground. I didn’t bother fighting; I just showed that I am not threat. He nodded towards a tree, telling me to shift back to human. Another wolf from aside threw me a T-shirt that was definitely too big for me. I didn’t even realize that there’s another wolf there! I held the shirt with my mouth and went behind the tree.

I changed back to human and quickly slipped on the T-shirt. It reached around mid-thigh. When I went back, I expected to find the two wolves. But instead, I found two gorgeous guys standing there. One was fully dressed, and the other just had shorts on, because I took his shirt. Wolves are immune to coldness; they are capable of keeping themselves warm, even with little clothes on. That’s why he is able to survive in this freezing cold weather.

“What are you doing here?” The first one asked.

“I’m sorry. I was just running and I didn’t even notice that I’m out of my pack’s territory.”

“We have to take you to the alpha, and see what he wants to do with you.” I nodded. Then we started walking.

“What’s your name?” The second one asked, smiling nicely. He seems much less strict than the other one.

I smiled back. “I’m Hailey.”

“I’m Chase, and that’s Carter,” He said, motioning towards the other guy. “Sorry he seems so mean; he is just too strict when it comes to wolves crossing our territories. It’s his job to make sure that no one enters our permission without alpha Reece’s permission. He’s usually a really once guy, once he’s not working.” He said. We were actually a long distance behind Carter, so he couldn’t hear us talking. That’s good.

The walk to the pack house wasn’t really long. We arrived soon after my little chat with Chase. The pack house wasn’t really huge, but it wasn’t really small; much like ours.

“Alpha Reece! There was a wolf trespassing! We have her here right now!” Carter called out.

“Her? A female?” A voice came out from some room.

“Yeah.”

“I’m in my office. Bring her in.” He ordered.

Carter grabbed me by my arm and pulled me to the room to my right. Sitting behind an office desk was a very sexy and attractive male. Wow.

“Sit down.” He said. I sat on one of the leather chair situated in front of his table.

“What brings you here?” He asked. Tears sprang up to my eyes, but I refused to let them out. I didn’t want to cry in front of the alpha. I will seem like a weak girl.

“Yesterday, something personal happened, and I was running in wolf form, trying to release some of the pain. I ran a lot and fell asleep somewhere near a random tree. Today in the morning, when I attempted to find my way back home, I got lost and found myself here.” I replied, honestly. I didn’t exactly want to tell him that I got rejected by my alpha mate who keeps telling everybody that he still didn’t find his mate. It hurts, and I’m pretty sure that if I say this aloud, I will cry once again, like the weak pathetic girl that I look like.

He nodded. “If you don’t mind me asking, is what happened yesterday anything related to your mate?” He asked. I gawked at him. How did he know? “The pain of the mates is stronger than any other pain in the world” He said, as if reading my mind.

“Yeah. He actually rejected me a few weeks ago, but yesterday, when his dad asked him if he found his mate in front of everybody, he just denied it.” I said, my voice breaking at the end. I know that I said I didn’t want to tell him about this experience, but I needed to share it with someone! I can’t share it with Casey because she’ll demand that I tell her who’s my mate, and I really can’t tell her because he ordered me not to. Maybe telling Alpha Reece will help me. I can keep Alex’s identity anonymous, though.

“I understand. My mate died a year ago.” He said sighing. “You can stay here overnight, but I’m taking you back to your back tomorrow.”

“Thank you. And I’m really sorry. You’ll find someone who loves you soon.” I said, smiling a sad smile, trying to cheer him up. He didn’t deserve this. I don’t deserve this. Nobody deserves this. But that’s life, and you have to deal with it.

I got to know Carter and Chase better later that day. I also met some of the other pack members, like Ashton and Asher (twins), Marcus, and Brad. They were all really attractive, but Reece was the hottest one of all. Yes, he told me to call him Reece instead of Alpha Reece since it makes him feel old. Apparently, he is only nineteen years old. He became an alpha last year when he found his mate, but then she died, but since he was already an alpha, he had to stay as one.

All of them were really great friends, especially Chase. He was so adorable and cute! I wish they were in our pack or vice versa. They are really easy to get along with. Reece told me that I can visit them whenever I wanted, and he told me to come soon. Chase later told me that Reece has taken a liking in me, but I refused to accept the fact, although it was obvious from my side too. I have enough problems in my life. I don’t need to add Reece to them. I bet that the second I tell him that I’m pregnant, he’ll run for his life, and never look back.

I’ve been hurt enough.

Later that night, Reece told me that I can sleep in his bed, and he’ll sleep on the couch in his room. I just said that it’s okay to sleep on the same bed. We’re not doing anything wrong, anyways.

I fell asleep on his shoulder that night. It wasn’t awkward. It was quite comfortable actually.
