Chapter 8 (Part Three)

Seoul, South Korea

It was a quiet morning compared to other days that had passed by. Jin heard a doorbell and the door opened.

“Housekeeping!” The man who entered said and he heard a cart rolling by.

Jin stood up and his hopes began to elate. This is his chance to escape.

The man knocked on the bedroom door and Jin hides behind the door. The man opened the door and Jin attacked the startled man, giving him a sleeper choke.

“I’m sorry.” Jin said as he undressed the unconscious man and retrieved his clothing.

He wore the housekeeping uniform and he’s glad that it fits to him. He walked outside the room, bringing the cart to him which served as his shield. He saw the housekeeping section and leave the cart and Jin searched for the emergency stairs.

He saw the stairs and run as fast as he could. He wasn’t bother that he is on the 21st floor and he’s catching his breath when he reached the ground floor.

He removed the uniform and walked towards the exit. As soon as he is a meter away from the hotel, he runs again and rode a cab.

“Where are we going sir?” the cab driver asked.

“Mangwon-dong” Jin replied.

Sorrento, Italy
October 30, 2020

They went to Gloss by noon. It was easy to find the shop despite the small sign outside. There are several music boxes displayed on the glass shelves which are visible outside. Jin opened the small door and they entered the shop.

“Welcome to Gloss.” Yoongi smiled at them as they scanned the shop.

Taehyung was amazed with the music boxes and picked one.

“This is awesome Hyung. I’ve only seen a real one today.” Taehyung smiled. He opened the box and rotated the key. A small ballerina at the center started to spin as the music played.

Yoongi guided them to another door which led them to small, dimly lit room.

“This is my workstation. Your music box is on the top shelf hyung.” Yoongi pointed the cabinet.

“I will give you 20 minutes to get the music box. The men outside are my father’s men. I’ll try to lure them to give you time to escape.” Yoongi closed the door behind them.

Taehyung looked at the cabinet. There were three music boxes on the top shelf. He held each one and read the labels.

Taehyung opened the music box and rotated the key.

“Do you remember Hyung, when we used to hang out in Han? You always play this from my phone. You know how much I love Audrey Hepburn.” Taehyung said as he closed his eyes when Moon River played from the music box.

“When we have nothing to do, just chilling out there. You just played this on repeat and then I’d fell asleep on your lap and we felt contented. We always go to Han before my exams and helped me for my review. You always teach me with my home works because you’re the genius one.” Taehyung chuckled and continued.

The music stopped and he picked another music box and rotated the key. Vincent (Starry, starry night) played and the music filled the air. Taehyung felt he was in another dimension.

“Do you remember when we went to the exhibit after I forced you?” Taehyung chuckled.

“You became mad at me because the ticket is expensive and we have no money to buy food and starved for the whole day. And after that you called me Vv. We have many precious memories together and we are very happy just by being with each other.”
