Mary Anne's p.o.v

The hot summer air sting my back as I trotted outside with Ricky as we were going to get smoothies. I was dressed in a simple black half shirt that fell off the shoulders and white Jean shorts with cute white sandals. I dyed my hair back about a week ago to its original blonde color, so now it was up in a high pony tail with my sunglasses perched onto my nose.

Ricky was dressed to impress as always, simple American Flag t shirt and cargo shorts, but his RayBan stun glasses and grey vans made him look like your ideal California boy, tan to match. Dave was working today, late, again, so we decided we'd go chill.

The bored walk wasn't so crowded do to the crazy temperatures outside, but the sight was worth the heat. Ricky sent me to go get the smoothies as he went to go find us a place to sit, so walked to the stand alone and my eyes scattered across the menu. They had iced coffee. Yum!

I ordered a (dare I say) large mocha frappe, extra whip cream, extra chocolate, and a cute tiny chocolate bar on top. I ordered Ricky a Strawberry and Coconut smoothie with extra ice and got us both a huge funnel cake.

"Is that all, Gorgeous?" The boy behind the counter asked with a smile and I couldn't help but smile too, blush creeping into my cheeks.

"Yea thanks." I say and leave after he hands me the receipt. I sit in the grass under a shady tree that Ricky was also lounging under and handed him his smoothie. He smiled up at me after looking at the receipt and handed it back to me.

"Looks like you have a secret admirer." He says and of course, I see the cute hand writing.
Call me any time sweetie- Bradley Mercer 1-786-395-4389

I crumpled up the note and shoved it in my pocket, no, I was done with boys for now.

As I sat in the grass talking and laughing with Ricky memories flashed and occurred in my mind. "What're you think about little Mary?" Ricky asks and I smile at my fingers as I pull the grass up with my fingers.

"Back when I was three, me and dad used to go to this one park in Tennessee and we'd pick out shapes in the clouds and laugh for days.. I miss that." I say, genuinely smiling at the memory.

"Wait, like your real dad?" He asks and I nod, keeping the smile. "You don't talk about him much." He mumbles quietly and I nod.

"I don't really know him, I'd like to though." I say and he sighs.

"Well maybe we could talk dad into you getting to go see him soon." He says, taking a drink of his smoothie and I shrug.

"It's not a bad thought.
