12) nightmares

I sat up, sweat dripping down my face, my throat was dry and I couldn't quite get my words to come out,I turned to my side to see Helmut sleeping peacefully, he looked so innocent when he slept, I didn't want to disturb him with a stupid dream so I decided to slip out of bed and got fetch myself a drink.

I stood in the kitchen waiting for the milk it placed in the microwave to heat up and I looked outside my apartment window, whenever I was unable to sleep during my avengers days I used to sit by here all night and watch the world go by
"Y/n what are you doing up at this time" I turned around quickly "oh I couldn't sleep"
"Why didn't you wake me?"
"Because it was only a nightmare, I was just getting something to drink before heading back"
"you look flushed"
"I mean it is 2am and I've just woken up"
ding
I pulled myself away from the window and took the milk out of the microwave and poured It into a mug, I took a sip and the warm liquid hugged my body
"Let's get you back into bed" he said taking me by the arm and pulling me back into my room

He let me climb into my bed and he shortly followed after he had Turned off the main light, I left the lamp next to my bed on until I'd finished my drink.

"Might I ask what that dream you had was about"
"thanos"
"I see"
" I know it's been months, but I can still see Tony's face after he- he-"
"Shhh Liebling it's alright" (love)
"No!It's not alright though, he's gone, Steve's gone, Natasha gone, Loki's gone, and I cant do anything about it"
"You avenged their deaths with the work of  your friends"
He still wasn't a fan of the avengers, a little hypocritical for him to date me
"I just wish it had gone differently, that it had been me"
"Do not say that"
I began to cry, I didn't like crying it made me feel vulnerable but I trusted him
"Y/n if it had been you, we would have never met, I'd still be in my cell and I can't imagine my life without your whingeing voice"
I giggled "I suppose"
"Come here schatz" (dear) he said pulling my closer to him "rest your eyes"
he stretched his arm over me to flip the lamp light of and I snuggled into into his chest, he smelt so comforting , he held me in his arms and didn't close his eyes until he was certain I was asleep
"gut schlafen"

I'm back! I finally got motivation to write yay!!! I'm working on Loki one shots too so little stressed
I'm currently trying to change my writing style what do yall think!
