For @miabukenham hope you enjoy

"Is it true?" I asked

"Is what true?" Ponyboy asked

"You're dating Cherry Valence?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I was just wondering."

"If you say so."

Goodness gracious, I've had a crush on him my entire life! I wanted to tell him. I don't think he knows I like him. Can he really not read signs?

Ponyboy and Cherry. Geez. I thought I'd never see the day where a soc and greaser date. Well, maybe I could help make it normal. "Randy?" I asked

"What?"

"Um, I was wondering, I've always kinda liked you, and- um- I wanted to know if you'd go out with me?" Biggest lie I've ever told

He smiled. "Sure. When and where?"

"The Dingo tonight at maybe seven?" I suggested

"Sounds good."

"You're gonna show up, right?"

"Yes."

"You're not trying to embarrass me?"

"Nope."

"Ok, I'm trusting you." I said

"You can. I'll see you later." He walked away

Seven arrived and I went to the Dingo. I waited for him for a bit, then saw him stumbling in. He was drunk. "What happened to you?" I asked

"I got what I like to call pre-drunk." He slurred

I looked behind me and saw Ponyboy and Cherry walking to a booth. They sat in the one next to us.  "Hey, Mia." Randy said

"What?"

Randy grabbed my hands and held tightly to them. "What do you say we do something else?"

I noticed Ponyboy was glancing at us. "Hey, Randy!" He finally spoke up, "Leave her alone."

"What did you say, dork?" Randy let go of my hands and stood

"I said leave her alone."

Randy slammed his hands on their table. "You wanna take this outside?"

"I don't want to fight you, man-"

Randy cut him off with a punch in the face. Soon enough, they started going at it. "Hey! Cut it out!" I yelled

"Why do you care?" Randy shouted at me

"I don't even like you!" I admitted, "I like Ponyboy. I don't want him to get hurt."

They stopped. Ponyboy stood up. "Really?" He asked

"Yes."

"I thought you didn't."

"I do." I said

"I like you too, Mia." He said

I smiled. The two socs left, and the rest was history.
