Chapter 4

Darkness Blooms

Oriana awoke to a start when she felt something wriggle in her hands. With hazy eyes, she stared at her curled up hands and found a tail sticking out from the side where her thumbs folded over one another. The Guardian peered down and found the little fire Creature and found that it had changed in size from its previous smaller dragon form. Smiling with happiness, a light blush spread across her face when the little Creature slowly crept out of the enclosure of her pale hands, and gave out a big yawn. It was too cute to not giggle at.

It was too cute, and Oriana knew the little bundle would be a handful. Blowing a kiss to the little fire Beast, she tickled under its chin and felt it gulp in surprise. Giggling at the motion, Oriana kept tickling it until she felt a soft purr escape its throat. The scales under the fire Beasts’ chin felt soft as if she was tickling velvet, and blushed a little at that. So soft, she thought happily.

Out of the corner of her vermilion eyes, Oriana saw movement and went to grab her needles she had pinned in the sides of her gloves, but found that she was gloveless. She suddenly felt naked and searched for the closest thing that could be a weapon for her. When she did she threw the object with such ease and forcefulness that she didn’t have time to stop the momentum. A yelp was heard, and a slight moan escaped from the intruder, but that didn’t stop her next object being thrown at the said already hurt imposter.

She loved torturing the intruder’s until they yelled in submission or just didn’t answer at all. When she didn’t hear anything she took that as a win. Slowly getting up from her warm spot, which she found that she was in the living room and the room had all sorts of weapons that were made by her especially. She brought the fire Creature up to her shoulders and grabbed another weapon nearby, at the ready.

Licking her chapped lips, Oriana took a quick breath in and readied her hands. Hands that were now shaking from what she couldn’t figure out. Yet at least, and why was she feeling so tired and drained of energy. None the matter if she would be asleep, she would still be filled with energy from wake to sleep. Growling in frustration, she felt dizziness overwhelming her already. She had to get the job done, before she passed out.

As she reached her intruder she saw that it wasn’t an intruder, but her brother’s Demon Guardian. Carion. Reaching down she grabbed the man’s collar shirt, which was weird for him to be wearing a shirt. She shook the man until he woke, leaning down to his eye level; since he was still sprawled on the floor, she leaned a little into him when the dizziness came back in waves. Growling, she made sure that the Demon would feel her wrath when he woke, that is if he would wake up.

“Wake up, you retard, before I-“the darkness overwhelmed her conscious and soon her world grew back to its’ previous dream state.

Carion woke to find himself sprawled on the floor, and a sleeping Oriana and raging fire Creature. Confused he felt for the various weapons the girl had thrown at him earlier, and then felt the growing bumps that earned the ferocious throws the Wolf-girl had given him. The fire Creature gurgled at the Demon and then chirred at her master’s sleep state. Pushing a strand of runaway hair out of her master’s face. Sighing, Carion picked up the sleeping girl and returned her to her room with the fire Creature flying in tow.

“She should sleep where she’s most comfortable, right?” Carion shouldered the maroon door opened, to Oriana’s room, and placed her on her white overspread bed. At the foot there was another blanket, decorating the fabric was dragons outlined in various soft colors and watery designs decorated the background. Pulling the cover over the child, Carion saw the fire Creature declaring a spot next to the girls head.

When Carion had reached the foot of the door, he turned to see the Wolfdane girl shift in her sleep and brought the dragon closer to her. Hugging the little fire Creature, they both seemed at ease and in pure happiness. Even if the dragon Creature wasn’t hers’ in the beginning it seemed as if they were supposed to. With how both acted towards one another, it was almost as if-
