Chapter 5
Seeking the Light
After the day Oriana had disappeared from the Living world and into Limbo, Demons and other low level Creatures have been appearing more frequently. The Guardians and their own Demon Guardians of Under-Light and Under-Niji have been under siege and has been keeping the Guardians busy, not being able to find their loving sister and friend. The two little towns’ have been under complete watch, and most of the time it’s been nothing but wreaking havoc and a lot of destruction have been under way. The Mother of the Wolfdanes’ had disappeared after a couple of days of her daughter disappearing, and no letter has been sent to the brothers’. Keeping them in the dark for so long, the brothers’ started to lose hope and their Demons Guardians were starting to become worried that they would succumb to their own darkness.
The Demon Guardians, except for U.C., started taking on some of the watches for the boys and would take whatever jobs where sent to the Wolfdanes. The townspeople knew what had happened to the Wolfdanes, and would send their condolences to them, and would treat them with more care than ever before. The townspeople soon started taking care of the oncoming Creatures and Demons that started to appear, but of course would get help from the Demon Guardians, who in return received lots of praise and condolences to their charges. The Wolfdane brothers.
U.C. kept to himself most of the time, except whenever C4 visited him. Besides that he wouldn’t leave his post at the Wall, the same place where Oriana sent him flying into. U.C. stared at the cracked wall and remembered how his charges eminent other power blasted against his chest. Still remembering the cold touch of her pale hand, those eyes peering into his own light colored ones and that grin that stretched over her face when she saw the pain she had caused him. U.C. grimaced at that memory that flashed constantly in the front of his mind, and slammed a fist into the already broken wall.
C4 stared at his brethren, sighing he knew he couldn’t exactly help the poor white haired teen, but he could give him a shoulder and some comforting words. Sighing at his own haste, he shook his dark head and took one of the lollipops he had received from the little girls he had saved earlier that day. He choose the grape one and popped it in his mouth, the flavor was sweet and that made him think of the first time he had tasted this flavor. Blushing a little he sighed and raked his hand through his dark head.
Back at the burnt down home of the Wolfdanes’, a dark figure stood before the rubble, kicking some of the broken pieces the dark figure saw a glimmer of something shinning in the corner of their eyes. Tilting the goggles that covered their dark eyes, to the top of their cloaked head. The dark figure reached over to the shinning object, dusting the charred pieces of the house away, making the object beam brightly in the Sun-glow light. Bringing it up to what light the dark hooded-figure had, they inspected the object; a silver chain dangling in their hands with a small charm swinging back in forth.
A silver key with a flame and a wolf’s face, engraved onto the top of it, with flowers and tiny Sun-glow vials dangling off the trinket itself.
Shaking the small object, the dark hooded-figure watched as the Sun-glow vials twinkled, its’ color jumping off another gleaming object not too far away from their being. But, before they could get to the hidden object, they heard footsteps headed towards their way. With hurriedness, the cloaked figure disappeared from the burnt house, along with the silver Sun-glow key necklace. No traces of their whereabouts where to be seen, the hooded figure shook their shoulders, as if sighing in relief that they didn’t go to notice by the figures rushing to the charred home.
Watching from the shadows, the hooded-figure saw that it was the Wolfdane brothers’ who came rushing back to the house. Probably noticing that someone was at the house, but weren’t they on the other side of the town. Working on the North Wall. Confusion ran through the hooded figure, and stared at the scene that unfolded like crazy before them. They watched with more confusion as the twins stared at the spot they were just at a few seconds ago, and tried their best to listen to what the boys were saying. But to no prevail did the cloaked-figure hear what the twins said, and soon they were gone out of sight.
