Chapter 18: Lying to Understand; Darkness falling into Light

Thistle colored eyes glanced over her sisters body, making sure over and over again that her oldest sister was completely fine. Even with her clothes tattered up in the middle and somewhat downwards towards her lower half, she seemed just fine as before. But, Jeanne still couldn't get the image of her sister; Renee bleeding out, or even being caught by an unknown enemy. She was one of the quickest out of the three sisters, but just like that she was taken down in front of everyone.

Jeanne shook her head from ill thoughts, and gave her sister one more glance over and hugged her tightly. Her sister struggled in her grasp, gasping out her name. Their other sister Yuu was pouting at their older sister who just smiled as if nothing happened. She seemed a little more like herself, even after that incident, would she still be alright?

Jeanne leaned away from her older sister, as Kuroo talked to Artemis; their guardian who insisted on coming with them on this mission.

"Need to take care of my Bunny." He smirked at his own nickname for the red head, who blushed even darker at the red-head boy and puffed her cheeks out once more.

 Jeanne smiled at Kuroo's childish nature, yet she knew he was only joking, half-heartily to her sister. She knew how much Kuroo loved her sister, but Renee was one who didn't really like showing her affection towards others; unless it was her sisters. Maybe Kuroo will be an exception one day.

She saw her older sister shook her shoulders and seemed to be in thought, and unconsciously touched the spot where she was stabbed before.  

"I was too slow..." She whispered.

Kuroo was in her face within seconds, as soon as those words slipped through her lips, his own claimed hers.

Jeanne and her sister Yuu blushed at Kuroo's bold actions. 

"No, my Bunny. Don't think badly of yourself. Don't you ever put yourself down!" The red-head boy claimed her into his arms, and Jeanne and Yuu saw their sister slightly flinch but then relax slowly.

Jeanne covered a giggle, and Yuu smirked at the oncoming torture the boy would have to endure from such bold actions. Guess he forgot that Renee was one to take quick action, when motivated.

"You know Kuroo, sometimes you just get a little too touchy.."

"Huh?" The red head boy couldn't even finish his foolish question, and cringed in fear as his manhood was slightly injured.

Their sister had her arms crossed over her chest, cheeks puffed out once more. Her sisters laughter could be heard over the poor boys moans of pain. His brother Shoyo laughed with the girls. Which he earned a terrifying growl escaping his brothers' mouth.

"Oh, yeah! You think that was funny, do ya'?"

Soon the two boys were on the ground, wrestling with one another. It seems pain is something these two can handle very well. Or just ignore it when the other makes fun of the other. The sisters gathered around their oldest sister who was still in a pout, but as soon as her sisters where around her, she smiled big.

"Sorry to worry you guys," she said in a whisper, as the trio gathered themselves in a tight hug once more.

"You don't have to apologize. Plus, we don't even have to worry about the one who injured you. She was, uh," The two youngest glanced at one another, as if asking if they should tell her what really happened.

"She was taken care of, she," Yuu glanced again at Jeanne.

"Ran away at the sight of someone else..." Jeanne kind of lied.
