Stay Away

26- I propose and he accepts.

Manvi pov:

As soon as we entered the office building I noticed Aravind and few other officers standing at the entrance waiting to invite us. They welcomed us with bouquets as we got down from our cars. 

It had been so long since I last gave him a bouquet. I thought to myself.

As we were about to enter the building.... 

"Aravind.... just a second please." I said and we both alone stayed back while the rest went inside the building.

"Yes mam. How are doing? It had been more than a week since we last met." He said.

"I am good. Today I have a favor to ask from you. Will you help me out?" I asked.

"Sure mam. Anything for you. But can we meet after the lunch? Rest of the guests are waiting and I am supposed to go call Vidyut sir down to the dining hall." He said and I nodded my head.

"I will wait in the parking lot and most importantly I don't want you to tell anything regarding this to your boss." I said and he nodded in response. With that both of us headed inside the building.

While the lunch was being served I kept looking at him. Something about him looked different today. He kept avoiding my gaze whereas I felt confident enough to keep looking into his eyes. Whenever he initiated a conversation or whenever he complimented me, I felt strangely happy and exited. Even though he tried hard avoiding my gaze, he couldn't hold it back and I couldn't avoid smiling at it. After the call in the morning with Akshaya things seemed different.... she definitely had played an amazing cupid role I guess.  Whatever it is, I am going to give it a try today.

When we were done with the lunch, Shiv sir came in my direction and asked....

"Are you coming back with us to the office? Or should I give you a ride back home?" He asked.

"No sir. I have an important job to do today. You guys carry on and I would go back later. I have informed even my driver to get back. I will see you later sir..... yeah.... bye." I said and he left the building with the rest of our staffs.

When I turned back Vidyut was no where to be found in my eyesight. I sighed in relief and moved towards the parking lot. After waiting for nearly 15 minutes, I noticed Aravind walking towards me. Maybe he had accompanied Vid back to his cabin. He seemed breathless and tensed. 

"Cool down and drink some water." I said giving him the water bottle which I had in my hand bag. When he finally relaxed, he said ....

"This is the first time I am doing something behind his back and that is only for you, mam. And most importantly I need to get back before he notices my absence. 

"Yeah fine. You are not helping me in something illegal, so don't worry too much. I have just 2 small favors to ask." I said and he giggled at my words.

"What are they?"

"1st thing is, I want his number." I said.

"You don't have it?" He asked with a little shock on his face.

"Hmmm... I deleted it after we separated." I said straight as I knew he knew about our past relationship. He had been with him from back then.

"Oh ok.... I am sharing it to your number now." He said and took out his phone to do it.

"And secondly....I want you to do something like...." I dragged as I was not sure as to how to ask.

"What is it, mam?" He asked looking up from his phone.
