"Go-vin-daay na-mah" she continued uttering the mantra.
She wasn't afraid, for , she knew her saviour, her rakshak babu would come to save her.

"Aisa hi hota hai jab aurat apni maryada bhul jati hai." Whispered a lady.

"Nahi toh kya!! Itne acche khase parivaar ka naam mitti mein milane chali thi. Huhh!!" Replied other.

Bondita could clearly hear them talking. She could feel how ruthlessly the priest was pushing her into the river, exerting all his force on her little head. Many a times, his sudden action would jerked her. She was all helpless but still have hopes and faith. The priest and other men were continuously smirking at her. The starry night seemed to have no end.
The cool weather was showing its dominance at its peak.

"Aap choti malkin hai humari. Isiliye maafi ijjat se pesh aa rahe hai aapse." Whispered the priest.

"Jaake- pe-hle - ijjjat ka - arth - ja-an ke -aaiye. " she uttered, shivering although with courage.

The priest laughed at this comment. He was just laughing, laughing like a devil. The sound of his loud laugh echoed in the atmosphere. It was fierce and spine chilling at the same time. Bondita gupled and plunged inside the water, closing her little eyes tightly. As soon as she came out of it, she could see the sky, turning its colour. The musty yellow and orangish colour had covered it. She could see a ray or two of the sun, though it wasn't arose yet. The sound of the cuckoos and other birds chirping could be heard. She could feel something from far. The presence of someone special. Dew drops started forming on the greeny leaves of the trees which directly hit the grass on the ground. A different pleasant smell of nature prevailed in the atmosphere. It was damn soothing. It seemed as if the nature itself is biding him a warm welcome through its beautiful traits.

As soon as she realised the person's presence, she started laughing hard. The priest , women and other villagers were confused at such a sudden change in behaviour of hers. They scratched their heads.

"Kahi inka mansik santulan to nahi bighad gaya?" Commented a lady, tightening her grip on the veil.

"Has kyu rahi hai?" Asked the priest rudely.

"Waha dekhiye." She pointed her fingers straight, although not a single soul was present there.

"Kon hai vaha? Koi bhi toh nahi hai."

"Aapko nahi dikha toh kya hua. Mujhe to dikha." Everyone once again glared at the place where she was pointing but found no one standing there. Meanwhile, her the intensity of her laugh started increasing with time. She looked at the priest and smirked at him.

"Teen, do, ek!!" She said to him.

As soon as ek was uttered from her mouth, a familiar sound attracted everyone towards him.

"Rukiyeeeee!!!!! " he shouted from there, raising his right hand in the air.

"Dekha. Tabse chilla chilla ke bata rahi thi main ki aayenge mere pati babu. Lekin sunayi hi tum logone.
Isse pehle voh laga de is nadi mein hoti,
Bhag jaiye panditji pakad ke apni dhoti. " she mocked at them and giggled listening her own short poem.

After seeing Aniruddh and the warning of Bondita, he immediately left the hold of her head and started swimming. On the other hand, he was fighting with the villagers, with a log of wood in his hand, beating them mercilessly to trouble her. He somehow managed to resist them. The ladies already left the place as soon as they heard him shouting ' rukiye '. Two men held him from back but he jumped and straightly ran towards the stairs.
