Batuk's P.O.V :
Through the dusty roads of Tulsipur, we both walked together proudly for setting the cattles free and saving the grandpa - grandchild duo. Boudi was enjoying her toffees and on the other hand, I was lost. Lost in the thought of the suspicious girl who helped us, without knowing her exact intentions behind the unexpected help.
"Tumhe nahi chahiye hogi toh mujhe dedo." She said merrily, licking the wrapper of the toffee.
"Kya?" I asked , almost confused.
"Tafi !!"
I chuckled hearing her pronunciation.
"Toffee"
"Tafi!"
"Toffee!!".
" Tafi!!"
She was still debating with me. But I wasn't in the mood. Without second thought, I gave her.
"Ye lo!!" I almost tossed it on her little palms.
She jumped and started clapping like a child. Ignoring her, I was still confused. Her eyes, she becoming unconscious, everything disturbed me a lot. But I decided not to overthink much. No never!! But I will surely tell my Boudi about this.
"Batuk.." She called me , giving the most naughty and wierd expressions on her face.
"Kya hua?" I asked her bit irritated.
"Hum kaha jaa rahe hai abhi ?"
"Aapka pata nahi par main toh London jaa raha hu...paidal paidal...chalogi?"
She puffed her face.
"Humesha ulte jawab dena jaruri hai kya?" She asked, keeping her hands on her waist.
"Humesha ulte sawaal puchna jaruri hai kya?"
I could see her frowning. She was looking so funny. Damn its unable to control the laughter in front of her. I wonder how could dada manage to do so. She was walking hastily, looking at the other side , still making the frowning face.
"Kamre ki khidki khuli rakhunga main. Aap aaiye tahal ke."
She quickly looked at me and smiled. She clapped and started jumping on the place. Again!! Her tantrums. She is so funny. I still wonder why roshogulla is her favourite sweet and not jalebi? Baatein ghumana koi Baudi se sikhe. I almost covered my mouth to control my laugh.
"Shotti Batuk??" She confirmed.
But I was busy holding my stomach and laughing hard seeing her funny face. Without uttering any word, I showed my thumb to her in approval, still laughing. She stopped at her place and I was busy, walking away from her.
"Isme hasne wali kya baat thi?" She murmured to herself, standing confused.
Author's P.O.V :
In the interior of the village, through the huts and gloomy houses, there was nothing but a huge silence. Only the low chirpings of the birds and the subtle sound of trees playing with the breeze could be heard. The rustling sound of dried leaves due to wind was audible. But in all the fights among those soothing voices, the loud shrills of someone majored.
The house of ironsmith, was all doom and grumpy. The wobbly walls, the loosened doors, the broken windows, the dumpy environment, everything which can give a gloomy atmosphere was present there. Inside were two Young girls, not more than 5-6 years of age, with their two long braids and shabby frocks were standing, almost shivering in fear. The half broken bed and the nasty interior added the pinch of dullness in the scene. Outside the verandah, was the huge rock where the ironsmith usually used to shape his iron. The wobbly cot outside seemed emptied. The earthen pots piled on one another was breaking one by one. The whole village was gathered hearing those loud pleadings. But still, someone's shrills were still unheard.
