PARIS
Papillon has settled nicely in France. Luckily one of her colleagues backed out at the 11th hour, and she got her posting in Paris. Life has been treating her well. Her apartment has a view of the Eiffel Tower, she has a couple good friends in her building, and has even gone on a few dates. Spring break is just around the corner, and Papillon can't decide whether to go back to Georgia, or spend the two weeks in Europe .... She misses her family terribly. Aria visited twice, once with Larry in tow. Papillon put on a good front, but was disappointed his twin didn't show. Hmph, she wasn't surprised, Laurent was not happy with the way things ended between them. After the confrontation with her ex she asked for some space. He obliged her, but then two weeks before schedule ... Papillon just ... left.
His calls and emails were answered, but she gave him no real explanation or closure. Just ... 'I need time for me.'
Laurent continued to reach out, but then the return calls became more and more infrequent. They fed psychically a few times, but when Laurent began creeping in without her permission Papillon got spooked and blocked him.
It's been a year since they have seen each other.

"Stop looking at her, how long she been gone? Damn."
Leave me alone, I just thought about her for a second.
"Yeah right. I'm glad you came, maybe you stop obsessing now.
Larry leans back in his seat as Aria snuggles next to him. She gives me a sympathetic look.
I nod and close my eyes.
Just a few more hours until we land in Paris.
It's good to be back home. The weather is nice, I've missed the Parisian energy. I get unpacked, shower, then make the call.
She picked up on the first ring.
'Hello?'
'Hi Papi.'
'Laurent! How are you?'
'I'm fine, fine. You?'
'Um ... I'm OK, it's been a long time.'
'Oui, it has. Not my choice.'
'Laurent ...'
"Hey Bro we going to La Scène, you coming. Aria never been."
I'm on the phone.
'Did I hear Larry say La Scène? I love that restaurant, wait are you in Paris?'
