The boys who rested in Casey's hands eventually fell unconscious in Casey's care. It worried Casey a bit, but Kayden told him the child would be okay.
The boys decided they should get this boy checked out, so they went to the hospital.
The doctors were surprised that their patient was a human, but they still treated him. They gave X-rays, scans, and test on the unconscious boy.
The boy had a few broken bones, but the doctors tended to him wrapping his broken bones and giving the friends advice how to handle the boy.
The catcher and pitcher headed home. Once they go there, Casey placed the boy on Kayden's bed.
"Where am I supposed to sleep?" Kayden whined.
Casey rolled his eyes.
"Not on the bed, you'll crush him."
Kayden gave Casey a whiny face, he slowly crawled into the bed. Casey watched amused. Watching as his friend gently scooped up the boy into his hand, placing him on his chest.
"See?" Kayden beamed. "There's no way I'll hurt him."
Casey rolled his eyes.
"Okay, okay." He smirked. "You look like his big giant protector."Kayden glared.
It was early on the Saturday morning when Kayden awoke to crying sounds. His eyes full of gunk, he wiped them tiredly. He shifted his attention to the noise of the crying. He stared at the human for a while, but it took his brain some time to actually realized the human is crying.
He slowly brought himself up he rested on the headboard. He shh the boy gently as he cradled him. The boys cries shifted into whimpers as he was cradled.
He somehow got a name from the boy, and a age. The boy told him his name was Justus, and he was 14. Kayden told him his name as well and Casey's. The boy gripped onto Kayden's shirt trembling. Kayden cradled him, whispering series of "it's okay, your okay." It seemed to calm the child down.
There was a knock on the door, it was Casey, Kayden's parents were on a business trip. Casey eyes widen at the little boy, he came closer smiling as the child. The child looked in fear, as Casey slowly rubbed his flop of hair. The child smile shakily at the affection.
Casey bent down making eye contact with Justus.
"What's your name?"
Justus told him nervously. Kayden just smiled while he still cradled him.
The two giant friends gave a look, a happy one. Glad that they could be of help to this child."We're gonna take good care of you, okay?"
Justus smiles.
