Chris breathed in the cool autumn air over and over again. It was freezing out here. He had to to fine a home. Fall was here and soon winter, he couldn't stay outside like he could in the spring and summer.
He sighed as he shakily took his tools and placed them on his belt, where he kept all his tools. He slowly made his ways out of the woods, trying somehow to stumble upon a city. Some place with homes.
~~~
Chris did not find a city.
He found a cottage in the words. A beautiful cottage.
The fourteen year old human stares in awe, the cottage was absolutely stunning.
The teen started to make his way until he heard a noise, a loud one. He turned around and was faced with a...
huge rat.
Oh no.
The boy immediately started running, he wasn't paying attention where to, he just ran.
He didn't know how long he was running for, all he knew was his legs were giving, and the next thing he knew a rat was beating him.
He passed out.
——
Everything was blurry. Everything hurt. His head ached, body screamed, eyes burned.
Everything was in pain.
He slowly pushed himself up to his feet, then immediately fell back down.
How was he alive?
And why did he just fall down on something soft..not the floor?
He immediately heard a voice...a giant voiced, just the sheer size of it made him wanna puke.
It hit the boy like a smack in the face.
A giant.
He immediately go to his feet and fell back down again, the world getting dizzier as his eyes couldn't focus.
He heard another blurry voice. This just topped the cake.
Chris passed out again.
——
When the teen woke up again he felt a tad better.
That's it.
He could focus a bit better now, as his head started to ache a little less. He could make out where he was now, as he blinked the dust out his eyes. It was a white bed room with beautiful fancy decorations everywhere.
Now he stared freaking out. He was in a giant room.
He rushed to his feet, this time managing to stay on his feet, wobbling.
He saw a giant shadow loom over his small body, a huge slender finger rushed to his side. Supporting him as his knees shook. The teen screamed horrified, as he threw himself away from the finger, once oddly landing on a soft ground.
He slowly turned to see the huge being in front on him. Never mind...beings.
He screamed as he scotched back, tears swelling in his eyes.
There was a man and a woman. They both appeared to be in their late thirties.
The man had brown chocolate skin with jet black hair that complemented well with his skin. He had brown chocolate eyes. The lady had brown Caramel skin with hazel eyes and dark brown long beautiful hair.
Chris had brown chocolate skin, brown hair and brown scared eyes.
He backed up as he chocked on his tears.
The woman acted first. She was already on her knees (the man was too as he was next to her) as she slowly came closer to Chris. She whispered soft 'it's okays' to calm the teen's nerves down.
The human didn't believe her. He was terrified of her. Giants only hurt humans.
He got to his feet as he stumbled, his vision blurring from getting up so fast, as he ran, he couldn't tell where until he bumped into something.
It was hard.
He whimpered.
He ran into the man's leg.
He cried as his body ached, he couldn't take too much more of today. He gave up in defeat as hands gently grabbed him. He was slowly brought up to a chest.
He whimpered again, but instead of resisting he melted into the makeshift hug.
"Aw, there you go." The woman cooed as she watched her husband ease the boy's fears.
Her husband smiled at her. He then looked back to the life in his hands. His eyes softened once more.
"What's your name bud?"
These people in Chris's eyes were like the parents he never even had. So when the next few words spilled out of his mouth, he didn't even realize he said them until he did.
"Chris, Papa."
The man stared in surprise, his wife did as well. Chris immediately burned red from embarrassment.
"I-!"
No words came out. He buried his head in the fabric. He didn't know why he had just called a stranger his dad. What was he doing...The couple just smiled.
The woman slowly got closer as she rubbed Chris's hair, it soothed the teen as it shook him out of his thoughts.
"It's fine sweetheart, John doesn't mind." She smirked at her husband, he playfully rolled his eyes.
"Nia's right don't worry about it son."
Chris nodded slowly, surprise they forgave him.
Maybe...this autumn wouldn't be so bad.
