Pt.2 from Day 30: Crush

Today it was a gloomy day. The cloud were dull as thunder wracked the Earth. Rain poured everywhere just getting higher and higher. Lighting flashed, the power leaving quickly.

Liam muttered to himself as the lights went out. He heard his little siblings scream and cry, he sighed this would be a long night...

He was still small...he would be for the rest of the month. He sighed, could this day get any worse. He was currently sitting on the kitchen counter looking for some food until the lights went off. Now he currently stayed still as he heard cries.

He was about to sit down when he felt his form being scooped up hastily. He squeaked as he was raised up to a sweater material.

It took him a moment to realize what happened.

"H-Hey-!"

"Are you okay? Dad and Mom told me to go look for you when the power shut down, and I remember you being in here before I left for a bit."

Liam huffed, he couldn't really see his brother cause of the dark, he could only feel his breath through his hair. It smelled like mint today.

He hated how his brother now kinda treated him like he was made of glass.

"I-I'm fine Lucas, j-just put me d-down."

He didn't even need to see the face of hesitance as it was quite for a few seconds.

"You s-sure? What if you-?!"

"I'll be fine, Lucas.."

He heard his brother let out a huff as he placed him back down on the counter. Liam stumbled, but got a sense of his bearings. He stumbled a bit more before he sat down.

Lucas fumbled in his pocket before taking out his phone, he flicked on the flashlight.

Liam flinched violently, not expecting such a bright light coming his way, as he felt his hand reach for air.

He slipped.

He shrieked as he fell in the dark.

Everything happened so fast.

He thought these were his last moments until he felt a squishy surface stop his fall. He felt air passing by him as he went higher and higher.

He was brought up to a huge concerned face. (He could see his brother now cause of the flashlight)

Tears started to pool out of his eyes as his mind was finally catching up. Stress coursed through him.

Which his sibling could clearly see.

"Gosh-you okay?! I'm sorry-crap-!"

Liam trembled.

Lucas took a deep breath in, even though they were the same age, he had to take care of him right now. Liam was extremely vulnerable and everything could and will try to hurt him at his size.

He brought Liam back up to his chest and sighed once more.

"Okay, okay your fine now, alright?"

He felt Liam give a small nod against his chest.

"Okay, okay...um.."

"T-Thank you.." he heard Liam say to him.

Lucas looked at him.

Why was he thanking him? Cause of him he almost died...

"Uh-yeah, it's no problem?"

Liam must've heard his questioning tone.

"I c-could've died, you saved my l-life dude..."

'But I was the one that risked it in the first place...' Lucas thought darkly.

Again his little twin seemed to read his mind.

"You didn't do anything w-wrong, I s-should've been so s-scared." He muttered.

And with that he hugged his sibling, exhausted.

It's gonna be a long night.
