“hey kiddo, are you up?” reese was woken up by maya, reese opened her eyes and sat up on the couch. 

“yep, i’m up, what time is it?” reese asked. “uh it’s about 7:30, and you my young lady have your first day at school.”

“i haven’t been in forever, so that’s disgusting, don’t feel like going.” reese said casually, making maya laugh.

“you’re going, no choice, carina went out to get you some things, she’s on her way.” 

“no…” reese groaned. “i’m home!” carina exclaimed after she opened the front door, with so many plastic bags in her hands.

“how much did you buy?” reese asked, leaning her head on the couch. 

“not much, enough to last you for a while, and i still need to buy you some more.” 

“thank you, but i didn’t really need it.” reese said, she wasn’t exactly comfortable with the recent spoiling of her or it was simply that she wsan’t used to nice things.

“of course i had to, now let’s go try some clothes on.” carina smiled. Posing with the .

“i don’t feel like doing that.” reese mumbled. “come on, it’s cute.” carina pouted.

“fine.” reese gave in. carina and reese walked up the stairs going to her room.

“look, i got you a few hoodies, a black, white, and grey one. ooh and a few sneakers.”

the two went through all the things carina bought and reese found herself in the center of piles of clothes, shoes, notebooks, and many much more. 

“you didn’t have to do this.” reese sighed softly.

“No, no worries, it was fun, i went shopping with my friend, she got you some things too, you’ll love her.”

“why are you doing all of this? you don’t need to spend your money on me.” reese whispered shyly. 

“hey,” carina put her hand on her shoulder.

“me and maya want to do this, okay? we want to show that you matter, you’re our family now,” carina spoke soothingly, making reese grin softly. 

reese sighed and covered her eyes and uncovered them when she felt something in her lap. “you bought me a phone?” 

“yeah, it only makes sense for us to have a way to communicate with you when we’re not around. me and maya’s phone numbers are in there already. you better pick up when we call you, or there’s gonna be a price to pay.” carina attempted to intimidate reese, but failed.

“i don’t want to go.” reese placed her head on the pillow.

“my niece goes there, i told her about you, she’s gonna be your tour guide today.”
