billie felt like absolute shit.

after her seemingly awkward argument with reese and being caught making out with her by her mother, the two were in a weird trance.

the weekend passed by quickly and the two's text messages and phone calls got shorter, but that didn't mean billie wasn't thinking about reese.

her nights were endless with the roaming thoughts of her girl, talking aimlessly with drew and zoe about her.

while billie practically melted over the girl, reese's consisted of her sinking her feelings.

she spent most of her time, laying her head in carina's lap and allowing her to form small braids in her hair. "it's okay to be hurt, bambina." carina whispered.

carina sighed again, "but i can't, she's right, i don't know how it feels."

"sure, you don't know what it's like to be in her situation right now, but she doesn't know anything about you either."

"i mean, she knows enough." reese mumbled. "you're not thinking of telling her anything about the past?"

reese shook her head no and pushed her head further into the older woman's lap. "i don't know, the whole thing is annoying me, honestly."

"it's gonna be fine, my love." carina told her.

"but it's not, she thinks my life is so freaking perfect."

carina pouted and lifted reese up to wrap her arms around her tightly. "i know it's not, but if it makes you feel better, at least you know you're not the only one in the wrong. she invalidated your feelings when she said that."

"no she didn't, she's right. i was totally being a bitch to her."

carina rolled her eyes and pulled away from reese, "no. you weren't, you and billie are just now starting to get to know each other and she doesn't know anything about you to even assume that your life is perfect."

"well it kinda is, now at least?" reese looked up at her. "well not entirely, but i hope it's getting there for you, because me and maya are trying really hard."

"yeah, you are." she nodded. "but at least you understand the situation she's in, yeah, bambina?"

"i know, i know, i get it."

the two continued speaking and allowed maya to enjoy the embrace when she finally came down the stairs.

"we were just talking about her little crush problems." carina smiled at maya.

maya gave her much needed input and the rest of the entire weekend consisted of them celebrating the win with the rest of her team and her family and take the time off of her phone.
