"wait, so if your team were to get a foul, the other team would a free kick?"
reese nodded at carina's words which elicited 'ohhhhs' from both her and maya.
ever since reese made the soccer team, the two moms had been spending all their free time soaking in as much information they could about soccer.
and reese couldn't help but think it was the sweetest thing in the world.
she never had a single person genuinely care about her, so to have two amazing woman wanting to know everything about the sport she was in love with was the bestest thing to her.
"so when's your first game supposed to be?" maya leaned over to her. "next friday, 6 pm." reese answered glancing over at her phone again.
"are you waiting for something?" carina asked her. "um, no. i'm just looking for, y'know."
"girl trouble, i'm guessing?," carina smirked. "come on, talk to us. what happened?"
"it's nothing, just stupid stuff that i got myself into."
"are you sure everything's alright? i don't want you getting yourself stressed, you have a lot on your plate right now." maya told her.
"i do?," reese raised a brow. "all i got right now is finishing school and soccer, that's simple enough."
"y'know you're gonna have to talk to a lawyer soon about the shelter owner--" reese cut off maya.
"absolutely not." she shook her head. "look, we've delayed a session with her as long as we could so you could get yourself adjusted with us, but it has to happen."
"i am not doing that! or any of this, i don't even know why you brought this up?"
"well we can't just not talk about it, love," carina spoke. "we need to put him away and you testifying is gonna help so much."
"i'm not testifying, nope. no, i'm not doing that at all."
"come on, iris, don't you want him to go away for what he's done to you?"
"me being here with you guys is enough."
"he needs to go away, baby. you get that, don't you?" maya whispered. "i'm not testifying."
"you have to, but we'll be giving you time."
"no, no! i don't want to!" reese exasperated. "why not?" maya sighed, not totally understanding why this was such a bad idea to her.
"i just don't want to," reese shook her head. "i don't even want to talk about it."
she stood up out of the chair and walked towards the door, "reese? where are you going?" carina turned around quickly in a panic.
"away from you two, don't follow me." reese opened the door and slammed it behind her.
carina was stopped by maya, who tried to go after her. "maya, what if she doesn't come back?" the italian woman ran her fingers through her hair.
"she will, okay? we just need to give her space right now, but she'll be back."

here goes to three weeks of being clean, reese thought to herself as she removed the backwood blunt, she happened to snag from the convenience store, from her lips.
she wasn't even necessarily angry with maya and carina. she was angry that she couldn't just forget about what took place and never face the fact that it actually happened.
her being away from him and with her new parents was enough for her. she didn't want to go through the process of having to admit to so many people that she was weak enough to let a man topple all over her so many times.
to be completely honest with herself, she didn't know how, but she found herself sat on a bench in billie's neighborhood.
a part of her wanted to run into billie and another part was dreading to spot the blond girl somehow.
"reese?" her head turned quickly and she let out a sigh of defeat when she realized who it was.
her old dealer.
"ha! and i actually believed everyone when they said you were clean." he croaked cockily.
"hell are you doing in a good ass neighborhood like this?" reese rolled her eyes as she asked him.
"y'know these white boys in these neighborhood, they're not all perky and perfect like you think. what are you doing here?"
"i really don't fucking know, man." reese laughed, some smoke pushing itself out of her mouth.
"so I'm guessing you're not clean like people are saying, hm?" he raised hus eyebrows.
"if you're tryna make a deal with me, no."
"come on, man. i got all the good stuff, even your favorite." he opened his backpack showing reese the bag of the white powder that was almost hypnotic to reese.
but all he got was a simple, "no thanks." from the girl. "y'know, you still owe me some money." he told her.
"uh, no i don't. i paid everything off in more ways than one, so don't try to ring me back in."
"just kidding, just messing around with you. you sure you don't want any?" he brought it closer to her.
"no, man. get that out of my face."
"well damn, alright. how about we take this back to my place? have some fun, hm? like we used to-" he reached his hand to place it on reese's shoulder.
"absolutely not." reese smacked his hand away. "since when is reese cooper not down for some fun?"
"since she got out of that shitty place." reese replied.
"come on, let's take it to my car, you were always one of the best when it came down t-" reese stood up and pushed him harshly, causing him to take a few steps back.
"the only reason any of that happened was because you had me jacked up on your shit, so shut it."
"oh, right...," he nodded. "so you're not delusional anymore, good for you. y'know you want me, don't deny it."
reese scoffed, turning on her to leave, but let out a squeal when she felt arms wrap around her.
she kicked and thrashed around wildly as her mouth was covered by her dealer's hand and she was dragged into the dirty and dark alleyway.
as if she wasn't terrified already, sheer panic went through her when she heard him unbuckling his belt and his hand starting to go down to her own sweatpants.
she screamed even though her voice was muffled and scratched at his arms while she continued to kick around.
eventually and fortunately, reese's fight was too much for the dealer to handle so he let go of her and reese was able to turn around swiftly and get a good swing at him.
he grabbed his nose, groaning while he pushed reese back into the wall and used his elbow to deck her in the face, getting her nose as well.
after a bit of tussling, reese got the upper hand and pushed herself away from and spit out blood. "fuck." she gasped while she limped to the one place she didn't want to.
"reese?," billie questioned when she spotted her. "you can't be here--, oh my gosh, what happened to your face!?"
"i know you want space and what not, but you mind if i use your bathroom really quick?"
