"i'm so sorry for what i said last month, really. saying that your life was perfect and there was no way you could relate to me was so wrong of me to say," billie looks at reese with adoration and a glimpse of hope that reese will truly forgive her.

"oh God, if i knew. i would've— i would have been—"

reese places her hand on the side of billie's face. her touch is delicate, warm, and can almost lull billie to sleep. their eyes lock and both share a small kiss; their possibly 100th kiss in the day. "i forgave you then and i'm forgiving you now."

"are you sure?"

reese lets out a small laugh, pulling billie in tighter. "i'm absolutely sure." billie looks back at her and can't help but sigh heavily.

"but like are you sure? cause i don't want you to pretend you do and then it gets worse and you end up hating me and then i end up hating you t—"

"stop, don't overthink it."

billie lets reese engulf her into her a warm hug, "i know, i'm working on it. it's just i'm scared that i'm gonna lose you."

"you're not losing me, ever. i promise."

a knock on reese's bedroom door stops their moment and the door is opened. "hey, are you guys busy?" carina pokes her head in.

"we're not. is everything okay?"

"yeah, just a few of your teammates are here wanting to say hi. they're downstairs, but i can tell them to come back if you two still want some time—"

"what?," billie quickly shakes her head and looks at reese. "they can't know i'm here, do they even know about us?"

"oh— i didn't." carina apologizes quickly. "no, it's okay, we'll be a second." reese responds back.

carina nods and apologizes again before leaving the room. billie turns her head back to reese in shock.

once the door shuts, billie runs her fingers through her hair. "billie, they're not going to assume that we're dating. so many people have walked in and out of here."

billie bites her lip nervously and lets out a sigh. she nods, "okay, you're right, i'm sorry for freaking out. i'm still—"

"getting used to us, i know." reese looks down at her feet. billie's heart sunk when she saw the defeat on reese's face. "please don't be upset."

"i'm not, alright," the taller girl shakes her head and places a soft kiss on billie's forehead. "just get home safe, okay? i'll see you tomorrow."

billie grins at the motion and kisses her girlfriend's cheek. "bye."

reese watches billie walk out of the room and shut the door behind her. a sigh leaves her lips while she backs up onto her bed and sits on it.

she perks up when she hears the door open again, thinking it's her friends but raises a brow when she sees it's billie again. "hey."

"sorry, forgot something." billie mutters. "what d—" reese speaks but is cut off by billie kissing her. billie pulls away and pecks her lips one more time. "to do that."

reese can't help but smile and lets go of billie to let her walk out of her bedroom one last time although she wants her to come back in once more.

"you're like the celebrity of the school today."

reese chuckles at zoe's words and shakes her head. "seriously, i was gone for a few weeks guys. no big deal."

"yeah, but a few weeks is a long time, baby." billie smiles, turning her face to look at reese, her fingers softly caressing reese's cheek.

the four of them were sitting in an empty starbucks with no one from their school around, so billie was taking full advantage of being close with her girlfriend as couples should be.

"exactly, three weeks is enough for you to get sick and die, just like that! and honestly, i don't know what i would if you died, i can't deal with these two for the rest of my life!" drew exclaims after placing her cup down.

"hey!" billie throws something her way. "we are not that bad."

"you two seriously are just a bunch of dickheads, really."

a groan leaves billie's lips while she glares at drew, "you already know what i'm going to say."

"oh, shut it, ugly." drew rolls her eyes. "hey, don't talk to her like that." reese raises her eyebrow at drew. a laugh leaves her lips as she falls back into zoe's arms.

for another half hour, they talk, laugh, and bicker until zoe and drew say they have to go and leave the two girls to themselves. reese and billie sit in a comfortable silence.

billie's fingers are still caressing reese's cheek and her other hand is fiddling with reese's own fingers. after a minute or two, reese lifts her arm up to wrap it around billie's shoulder and pull her closer.

a sigh leaves billie's lips as reese brings her in close. "so, do you know what your schedule is going to look like?"

reese nods, "it's gonna be pretty busy from now on, i'm gonna be attending group therapy and one on one therapy once a week. coach is adding more hours for practice and i also have a new curfew."

"did he even apologize? for accusing you having weed, cause if he didn't, i—"

"he did, he apologized." reese laughs softly. "are you sure? you promise?"

"i promise." she smiles and places a kiss on the side of billie's head.

billie nods slowly and straightens up quickly when she hears her phone go off. her small grin drops when she sees it's a text from her father, asking where she was.

"who is it?" reese looks at her with concerned eyes. "just my dad wanting to know where i am."

reese looks at her phone and checks the time. "do you wanna get going, i know he's been on you lately."

"no, i want to stay with you. i don't feel like going back there right now." billie huffs out. "i know, but i don't want you getting in trouble."

billie shakes her head again, "i haven't seen my girlfriend in weeks, so forgive me for wanting to spend time her."

reese grins when she hears those words leave her lips, and she laughs to herself. "what?" billie asked her. "nothing, it's just— it's your first time using that word."

billie realized and leaned into reese's arms again. they lock eyes with each other and a glimpse of something flashes cross their eyes. billie smiles when reese begins to lean down and finally their lips touch.

reese pulls away much to billie's dismay. billie sighs quietly and takes another glance at her girlfriend.

"i've missed you so much."
