Madison and Charlie stepped into Place Champlain with Ghost in between them. Ghost looked around as if deciding where he wanted to go. "No sneaking into stores, boy," Charlie warned the dog. Ghost lowered his head showing his disappointment in not getting to adventure.
Madison pet Ghost's head. "It's okay, boy. We'll get you something nice. Do you want a new onesie?" Ghost looked up at her and barked. He licked her hand. "I love you, too."
Charlie smiled at the two favorite parts of his life. "So where to first, mon petit chou?"
Madison looked to Charlie. "We should go to Bass Pro Shops first. I need to get the right walking gear. These sneakers are not good for all the walking you are into."
Charlie pouted as they started walking to the outdoor gear store. "That's mean, Mads." Madison rolled her eyes at Charlie's usual dramatics as she watched Ghost to make sure he didn't sneak off.

The Reyes-Gillespie family walked into Bass Pro Shops. Before they were even able to look at things inside the store, the two young adults and their dog child were surprised by a sales consultant coming to them. "Bonjour! Hello! Bienvenue à Bass Pro Shops. Je m'appelle Yves. Comment puis-je vous aider aujourd'hui?"
The three had jumped back at the arrival of the enthusiastic man. They were all looking at him with slight apprehension. Ghost was even trying to hide behind his mother. The strange man was disturbing. "Uh...On cherche des vêtements et des bottes," Charlie answered the sales consultant.
"Yeah...," Madison agreed, staring at the sales consultant wearily.
Yves smiled at them. "Ah bon. Par où voulez-vous commencer?"
Madison and Charlie looked at one another questioning if they wanted to continue. "I need hiking boots," Madison supplied. Yves smiled again.
"Okay. Allons-y," Yves said cheerily, gesturing for the three to follow him. Madison grabbed Charlie's hand and Ghost tucked himself against his father's side as they followed behind the practically manic Yves.

Yves brought them over to the shoe section of the store and pointed to the boots they had. "Here are some hiking boots," Yves said almost proudly in English with a thicker French accent than Charlie.
