Willow woke to the sound of running water. A few weeks ago they had made it to the Mucia Kingdom. Eleanor was still persistent in making Sawyer and her rest. But she was even worse with Sawyer. The bad habits he had developed while she was gone were still there. He would go to bed with her at night, but she would be woken up late at night with him getting out of the bed and walking out the door. And when he would come back she would be woken up by the soft click of the door. He would even forget to eat sometimes, so Willow had taken it upon herself to make sure they are together.
Sitting up in the bed Willow stretches and slowly climbs out from under the covers. A knock at the door alerted her. Slowly she made her way to the door. The running water from the bathroom told her Sawyer was done with his shower. Opening the door Willow was greeted by a mailman.
"Umm, can I help you?" Willow asked.
"Uh oh, yes, I'm looking for a Lizzy," the mailman said.
"Why?" Willow asked.
"A Jacob Lionheart has sent her a letter," the mailman said.
"I'm Lizzy," Willow said, she had forgotten that she had sent Jacob a letter when they had stayed in Eleanor's hometown. She happily took the letter and closed the door as the mailman walked away. Turning around she was nearly scared out of her skin. Sawyer was standing behind her fully dressed, giving her a look of curiosity.
"Using that fake name again?" Sawyer questioned.
"Yes, Jacob said if I was going to write to him again to not use my real name," Willow explained.
"I thought you were only writing that one letter," Sawyer said.
"I was, but then I got lonely while you worked on the boat and I sent another letter to him," Willow confessed," I should have told you."
"If you had told me, I would have gone after the postman," Sawyer said," but I can see that I won't be changing your mind on sending letters to him, so by all means continue."
She watched him go over to the little counter and pour himself a drink. Rum. She could smell it in the air. With the cup in one hand and the bottle in the other Sawyer went and sat on the couch. Ignoring him, Willow looked down at the letter. It was addressed to Lizzy a world traveler. So that's how it found me, Willow thought. Opening the letter Willow read what was on the paper.
Lizzy,
It's good to hear that you've been feeling better on land than on the water. Yes, your mother did come from that kingdom. If my memory serves me right she was the Princess of that kingdom. Your parents had an arranged marriage. I'm not too sure about either of the queen's parents being part angular fish, but it is hard to tell. There had been rumors when your mother first came here that her great-great-grandmother had an affair with her husband, the king at the time, with some creature. But you would have to look into that if you make a stop at that kingdom. The girls say hello and would like to know what you plan on naming your baby.
-Jacob
Willow had hoped that Jacob would have given her more answers, than questions. But she then realized that there was a second piece of paper. It was a map of the Thetrinia Kingdom. It was close to angular cove.
"Hey, Sawyer is there any way after the baby is born to go to the Thetrinia Kingdom?" Williw asked walking over to him.
"Depends, why?" Sawyer asked.
"Well Jacob thinks that my great-great-grandmother might have been the one who had a child with an angular person," Willow said.
"Did he give you her name?" Sawyer asked.
"No," Willow said.
"If we don't have enough information to go off of I don't see why we should bother looking," Sawyer said.
"Fine, I'll ask Jacob some more questions," Willow snapped.
"Kitten, I don't mean to make you angry," Sawyer said putting his drink on the coffee table," but angular cove isn't the best place to be, and the kingdom there is no better."
"What are you saying?" Willow asked confused.
"I've been to that kingdom once and nearly gotten killed," Sawyer said," I lost many people there back when I started out as a pirate."
Willow sat down beside him. He never openly talked about his past. She had always had to ask questions and even then he never went into detail.
"It was when I was first mate to Captain Calico Jack," Sawyer said," we were returning the missing princess and was surrounded by the king's army."
Willow didn't have to ask what had happened. She could see in Sawyer's eyes that it wasn't good.
"Jack was trying to explain to them that we had saved their princess life and only wanted to make sure she got home safely," Sawyer said," They didn't listen, they started shooting at us. They injured the princess in the process and had killed some of our men and wounded the others."
"How did you get out of there alive?" Willow asked.
"I summand the water and used it as a shield," Sawyer said," we left the princess and took the wounded back to the boat. The safest way to make it back to the boat and away from their docks was for me to use my powers."
"What happened to everyone?" Willow asked hot sure if she wanted to know.
"Jack was badly wounded and died a few days later, many of the crew that was wounded had died," Sawyer said," I had passed out due to the amount of power I used and blood loss. when I came too I found out I was the new captain."
Willow saw Sawyer change from a strong well-held man, to a man who looked broken and had seen too much death. It broke her heart.
"I'm so sorry," Willow said. She reached out and grabbed his hand giving it a gentle squeeze. He squeezed her hand back. "I won't ask you to go back there, I won't even try to go there," she said.
"Thank you," Sawyer whispered.
