Willow sat on the bed. During her imprisonment, she has learned that Sawyer's mother was the one that ran the house. That and there seemed to always be something, Mr. And Mrs. Dane always argued about. She would wake up late at night hearing them yelling. When Mr. Dane brought her food one day she had asked why he was still married to his wife. He never gave her an answer. She wasn't sure how long she has been locked up in this room. After what she assumed was a couple of days due to the little bit of light that would peek through the bottom of the door, it was soon blocked off.
"I'm really hoping that Sawyer gets here before you decide to make an appearance," Willow said looking down at her belly. She felt movement under her hand that rested along her stomach. She took it that her little bundle was agreeing with her.
Click, click, click.
The sound of heels against the stone floor caught Willow's attention. Looking over at the door she waited to see if someone was going to enter the room. But the footsteps just walked past the door and continued down the hall. Releasing the breath that she was holding Willow let herself relax a little.
Click, click, click.
Again she heard footsteps. But these did not belong to heels. Instead, they belonged to boots. Mrs. Dane didn't wear boots, neither did Mr. Dane. The footsteps were too heavy to belong to another female. The person stopped walking. "Mother!" Thomas shouted. The sound of heels rushing could be heard.
"What is it?" Mrs. Dane asked calmly.
"Dear brother knows his plaything is here," Thomas said.
Willow was outraged being called a plaything. She was not Sawyers plaything. He loved her. He has taken care of her. He was willing to take the risk of losing his life to get her back. He always made sure that she was alright and well before himself. Not able to hold back her anger she shouted," I'm not his plaything!"
"Be quiet!" Mrs. Dane snapped.
"If youre going to insult me and talk trash about Sawyer I will not be quiet!" Willow snapped back.
"Thomas, sweetheart, let's go talk somewhere else," Mrs. Dane said sweetly.
"Sure," Thomas said.
Willow heard them walk away. Still furious she screamed at them and continued sometime after she could no longer hear them. She screamed and yelled curses, slander, and many other things until her throat hurt. She sat back down on the bed and stared at the wall opposite of her. Got tears pooled down her face as her anger gained a friend, sadness. She was angry with Sawyers' family. They wouldn't leave them alone. She was angry with Sawyer, he had told her he wouldn't let his brother take her again. But she was also angry with herself for being mad at Sawyer. It wasn't his fault she was here, he had been unaware that Thomas had attacked her and Treasure. She was also sad because she wasn't with the people she has grown to love and care for. She was with people that hated her, that wanted Sawyer to leave her and marry some random girl.
She was beginning to understand why Sawyer hated his family. Why he left to be a pirate. His parents were worse than hers. She at least had someone to talk to when her mother would send her to her room with no meal. She had a father that at one point loved her. And she had Jacob. There had been times that he couldn't leave his kids at home and brought them to the castle. Willow had gotten to interact with them. Callie and Cora were sweet and had made her a flower crown. Caleb was a little hot-headed and it didn't take long before Willow had him put in his place. But Sawyer must not have had that. His parents seemed to love Thomas more. She assumed the only family that loved him, and he cared about was his grandfather.
The sound of the door to her room opening drew her attention to it. Mr. Dane walked in with a tray of food and a cup of water. He set it down on her bed then left. He didn't look at her, or say a word. It was like she didn't exist. It was like he was feeding a ghost.
"I am starting to get really bored," Willow said," if Sawyer doesn't get here soon I think I'm either going to go mad or die of boredom."
With a sigh, she reached for the tray and began to eat.
